- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A blessing of COVID is that it drew me to Thumbtack. I had just moved to Arizona, and was unable to travel to NY to design, which was my primary income. Thumbtack has allowed me to build a larger design client base, as well as have the opportunity to use my handy skills to help people with tasks all around the city.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My favorite project is the a recording studio I built in New York last winter. It was wood paneled floor to ceiling and I hired all my best girlfriends to hand finish each individual piece. It took three months and was so rewarding.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
For interior design- find somebody you click with. Invest in their consultation fees, get to know them, and choose wisely. For handy work- give us as much information as possible. It’s so helpful.
