- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our inspections start at $300 and include a full visual inspection with use of tools like moisture meter and thermal imaging camera to look for red flag areas like water intrusion, excess moisture and visible mold. It also includes an indoor and outdoor air sample for comparative analysis to see if elevated conditions exist or not. Additional samples are available at $75 each and can be air or surface to either confirm a source of a problem or see if a problem has spread. Lab results and a protocol for mold removal are also included in the cost. Guaranteed next day results are available and $25 per sample.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
If ever there is a new topic or anything important in regards to mold investigations we relay it to all of our inspectors. On top of that, many of our inspectors are general home inspectors that require continuing education. Some states also require licensing for mold inspectors and those people are required to take a certain amount of classes every year.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Our founders were originally working for a big restoration companies and saw the unethical business practices that were taking place in the field. They saw a problem and set out to fix it by offering unbiased testing. The presence of MI&T has greatly reduced problems that were taking place but there is still work to be done.
