FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Constantly. We research on the web, attend photography meetings, take classes for camera use and software use for post-editing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We've been doing this for years for family and friends and it has blossomed on its own. Through word of mouth and friends at work, every year we are busier and busier, so we decided to grow it into a business. We've taken photos at weddings as the guests and later had the bride tell us that she wished we had been her photographer. The photos we took were better than the photographers that were hired.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Know ahead of time what you are getting. We generally give our customers a CD or DVD of all the files that are good. These are the "proofs". We allow you to choose 10-20 of your favorites for us to edit, as well as any others you would like the full size file of. There are usually multiple pictures of the same pose. We try to let you help in the choosing process because you know your families smiles the best. We make think that your child is making a silly face, and you would look at it and say, "That's my Johnnie, always making that face." So, we try to let you help, but we filter the process so that you don't have to look through 1000 photos. Some photographers will only give you a limited number of files or they charge for the prints. We will help you get prints for an additional price, but we allow you to have the files for printing on your own if you wish.
