Jazz Shambo is a producer, writer, camera operator based in Phoenix, Arizona. She works with character-driven, lived-experience storytelling — films rooted in real people, real places, and the communities that mainstream film and television tend to overlook.
She founded UPLFTD Studio in 2023, where she collaborates closely with directors to shape their projects from the narrative up, giving each one a story worth telling. Over her years in the industry, she has made it her mission to lean fully into producing — understanding what it takes to create a film that audiences relate to, and that lives on well past the credits.
Her goal is to empower the Phoenix filmmaking community by creating real opportunity: helping local filmmakers produce their features and see a genuine financial return on their careers. Through UPLFTD Studio, Jazz is building a space where Arizona's stories — and the people who tell them — can thrive.

I wrote my first film “Nocturnus” and was struggling with the tasks of pre-production. Jazz joined our team close to the start of production and really helped us big time. I honestly couldn’t have done this project without her. She was amazing on set making sure everything was taken care of so I could mainly focus on acting. She really went above and beyond creating the call sheets and shoot schedules, assisting with the shot list, running the set and so much more. I highly recommend hiring Jazz! I can’t wait to work with her again in the future.

Pricing is based off commercial industry standard.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A discovery call will be scheduled within 72 hours within the initial request. The discovery call allows the opportunity for both party to understand the project and the service that can be provided for the project budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor degree and Film and Media production with a discipline in Film Direction and Producing from Sidney Poitier New Film School.
