- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Private Lessons: Private Lessons start at $110 each. Semi-Private Lessons are $60 each. Board & Train: We offer 2, 3 and 4 week Board & Train Programs. Prices range from $1750 to $3500. The exact cost is known after meeting for an Evaluation/Training Session. Pricing includes handling lessons for you. We're very good and patient people coaches too!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an extra -long session; often up to an hour and a half. We use this time to listen carefully to the client, evaluate the dog's temperament and learning style and begin a few exercises. We write up the evaluation and training plan and send it via email. This serves as an initial guide to training in private lessons and as our promise to produce specific results in a Board & Train.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Michael founded Prescott K9 Academy in 1991 with a psychology degree concentrating on Animal Learning and Motivation, and a Master Trainer Certificate from a live-in, state approved vocational school for professional dog trainers. Deborah began her apprenticeship with Michael in 1997 and worked exclusively as a support trainer for more than a decade before achieving the level of experience and skill required to accurately evaluate dogs and design training programs herself. We enjoy reading the latest research on canine behavior and spending time with other accomplished trainers.
