I had my kitchen remodeled for Thanksgiving, the contractors finished late Wednesday morning. I called around to have the old cabinets removed but could not find anyone that was able to get it done that afternoon. I expressed my concerns to friend, he told me to contact the individual that be purchased his house from. That he may be able to help.
I did and even though his price was a little high he said he could have someone out to me by 4:00 pm. My first surprise was when they showed up 20 minutes early. I showed them what I needed to have removed from the yard, old counter top, cabinets, hardware and debris from the contractors that did my kitchen. They smiled and said thank you? (Second surprise, why were they thanking me?) Then they got to work. Just before 5:00 pm they knocked on my door and asked if I would verify that everything was completed to my satisfaction.
As I walked to the side of the house one of the workers had just finished blowing all the little pieces of debris and leaves, and then grabbed a rake and raked the rocks that they walked through, swept up the debris that they blew into a pile. I looked around and verified that they had got everything. I paid the agreed upon amount. As he was writing my receipt he made a call? It sounded like he was checking in. I heard him say something about some bulk trash that I had on the curb, he walked to the back looked in the truck then the trailer and said yes we do. He hung up and brought me the receipt. As he handed it to me he told me that they were going to remove the junk on the side walk... I told him no, I couldn’t afford any more and that there was no need to, that it was being picked up by the city. His answer to me was (we are here, we have room, our next stop is the dump and that the owner said to take it. so I have too. He said that the owner assumes your having Thanksgiving at your place so I have to take it.) He was correct, I was and that’s why I was willing to pay a little more to have the kitchen debris removed but after seeing how they treat their customers I am glad that I did. These employees were professional and polite which I am not use to seeing any longer.
