The assessor, Rudy, told me the ballpark quote should be around $300, as we are running on a very tight budget now. lol and behold, the quote on paper is over $1000!!!!! It’s so insane, beyond my comprehension. Very happy with this company!!!May 7, 2019VerifiedGlobal Prevention Services, Inc. (GPS)'s reply
This negative review is a true anomaly for GPS and one the company does not deserve. Please know, we are quick to take responsibility, to accept blame were we to make a mistake or have a system or process error. And, we are lightning quick to react and to correct the issue to the client's satisfaction. Thankfully, we very rarely find ourselves in that mode, maybe once or twice a year, our 16-year record of client accolades validates our performance. Here are the details for our 1-day association with Ms. Tang in 2019. We did produce a remodel estimate for her in 2017, she did not proceed with that work. She contacted GPS via Thumbtack just after 7 am (we open at 8 am) and requested an estimate visit by 11:30 am. We adjusted our Senior Project Manager’s schedule (Rudy) to have him meet with Ms. Tang. Within 5 hours, we generated and submitted our quote to her, a quote which had hundreds of dollars in project costs and disposables and one that required containments (to control the spread of mold), negative air machines and specialty mold treatment products. The $1,096 quote included all of this plus the labor costs for the two trained technicians who were to perform the work. This included the project space preparations, building the containment, placing the machine, sanding and HEPA cleaning of the affected space, applying the microbial treatment and handling the final paint finishes. Twice, Ms. Tang called our office looking for ‘Jeff’, who obviously was a competing contractor as we do not have a Jeff in our current or past employment. We believe it was Jeff who may have guessed at a $300 project cost; GPS DOES NOT offer price range estimates, best guesses or anything of the sort, it is company policy. We do not do this at the first site visit or via phone, there are too many variables to consider and price. GPS (Rudy) never presented Ms. Tang with a $300 guesstimate, it is not how we operate. For her specific project, the number is outrageously below the cost for the equipment and products alone, let alone the labor costs for certified professionals to perform the work. I attempted to call Ms. Tang twice at the time of her review and she did not respond. Previously, she did speak with both Rudy & Kimberly (our Project Coordinator) many times, they had a combined 6 incoming calls from her (all in the 1-day of our total interaction). Rudy visited her home at her requested time and GPS submitted its written estimate a few hours later, with line item detail for each task, the price for the required equipment, disposables and labor. Everything we did for Ms. Tang was at zero cost to her, we spent a significant amount of time and money (consisting of the Thumbtack lead cost, 2 hours of Rudy’s time, Kimberly’s effort to rush the estimate through our system and my time responding to her thru Thumbtack and in reviewing her quote). GPS does not perform jobs at the $300 level, this whole situation is well outside of the norm in our tenured experience. I had hoped to speak with her so that I could explain all that we did for her for no gain; even if she had accepted our $1,096 bid, out NET profit would have been less than $100! Hardly a rip-off, certainly not 'insane'. Please understand, this was an active, visible (growing) mold situation, sure someone might do the very minimum for her, wipe or cover-up the mold - all for $300. But, we are experts, licensed & insured to do this type of work properly and professionally. An amateur will often exacerbate the problem, creating health risks for occupants, and putting the property (and the owner’s equity) at risk. GPS does not cut corners and rejects projects from owners who request this type of approach. Ms. Tang's review potentially harms the truly good people at GPS who perform with integrity and great personal conviction to serving our clients. Our team has performed tens of thousands of projects and GPS has never had one direct complaint or written review accusing us in this way. We are disappointed that our process and efforts did not please Ms. Tang We want every prospect and client to select GPS and to feel good about the quality and value we deliver. GPS made ever effort to serve Ms. Tang; the company spent time, money and other resources without any costs to her, all in the effort to resolve her property issues. Water Damage Cleanup and Restoration
Fair prices and excellent quality work. Global restored the cabinetry around our kitchen sink and did a fabulous job!Jun 27, 2019VerifiedGlobal Prevention Services, Inc. (GPS)'s reply
Kathleen, We enjoyed working with you and bringing your home back to like-new condition. For so many of our clients, these unexpected water events create so many negative factors: disruption, stress, unforeseen expenses, displacement and often there are conflicts as well (with neighbors, property managers, insurance companies, etc.). We also see individuals and their families, or other occupants, suffer from health issues related to the property damages. At GPS, we do everything within our abilities, to mitigate all the risks and to reduce these stresses for our clients. Clients like you, and reviews like yours, energize us, so thank you. We all need input from those we serve, good or bad - it's how we can improve our performance. Thank you again for letting us know we did well and I hope we will have the opportunity to work with you again at a future date. Best regards, Michael Himelfarb Managing Director GPS® Customer Service 480-951-3600
Worked with GPS to get back patio built. They handled the Permits, Blueprints and construction. Were there when they said they would be, courteous, professional and available at any time for questions. Patio turned out great and the crew was terrific.Oct 22, 2018VerifiedGlobal Prevention Services, Inc. (GPS)'s reply
Dan, We very much appreciate your great review of our company and its terrific employees. Your patio looks fantastic and is a high quality, added feature to your home. Mike enjoyed meeting you and he thanks you for the quick tour of the project. You were equally impressive as our client, it is a pleasure to work with individuals that understand the construction process, know exactly what they want and remain patient as we strive to deliver the best possible end result. We hope we can be of service to you and yours should another home improvement or new addition project take shape in the years to come. Thank you for your business and trust in GPS. Best, GPS Customer Service
They remodeled a moldy bathroom in a duplex we owned, pretty well, and they were responsive to our questions and requests. The price was a little high for the work, but understandable considering they’re a mold specialist Contractor. One request they couldn’t meet as discussed was the request to show pics of the construction in progress. Oh well, all in all they were pretty good and they completed the job.Dec 23, 2017VerifiedGlobal Prevention Services, Inc. (GPS)'s reply
Ginger, Appreciate your positive review, our team enjoyed doing this work for you. I promise you, the value you received for the work completed was excellent; GPS is always competitive. As you know, we did a few extras for you and we did not ask for a change order or add any additional fees, other contractors would have added this cost to you. We do have record of sending you photos and would have sent more if the request would have been made to our Project Coordinator at our office. If you need anything at this time, please let us know and we'll do all we can to accommodate your request. Best regards, GPS® Customer Service 480-951-3600
Deck or Porch Remodel or Addition
Someone came out to the house immediately to measure and write up a quote. One month later, someone called to ask if I still wanted the quote. I told them I wanted the quote, but 3 months later, still never received the quote. If you are going to take the time to come out and take measurements, take the time to write up the quote!Dec 27, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our service does require an on-site visit (provided at no charge in our market areas) so that all the details can be collected to properly service the needs of our clients. No matter if the project is brand new construction, a minor or major remodel or a remediation or emergency situation, true and accurate pricing requires data collection, site awareness and the determination for equipment, material and product needs. Those who will quote site unseen will have to change their quote (later on) or have built-in price protection that will only serve themselves.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?GPS is different and much of what we do that separates us from our competitors are trade secrets - literally. But, we can offer in answer to this question that most of our success lies in 'listening'. We are all about the client, their desires and needs or for those looking for direction or advice, we enjoy that too. It is such a simple concept, but so few businesses ever master the art of satisfying their clients - completely, each and every time. We meet with our clients and prospects, follow their lead, and augment their projects when asked to do so. We then communicate continuously until we have delivered on their vision. No lip service, no excuses, just a focused effort to generate results, create associations and enjoy the work and the relationships.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We are constantly gaining knowledge, attending seminars & events and our key people are required to maintain their certifications through continuing education. The Founder of the company speaks regularly to audiences within the industry and to real estate professionals, builders and others related to the development, construction and maintenance of real property.
