- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When we initially started in the pool maintenance business our model was that of the vast majority, charge a flat baseline monthly rate and add additional fees for chemicals as needed. This resulted in large spikes and variations in the summer month billing, which tended to catch many customers off-guard. In the spirit of keeping things simple and a consistent bill each month that customers can readily budget for, we decided to offer an all inclusive pool maintenance plan that includes all of the chemical needs of the pool in one flat monthly fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Understanding what is important to the customer is first and foremost. Ensure there is clear communication with all specific expectations and mutually agreeing to them.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to leave the "corporate world" in 2021 with aspirations of doing my own thing. While not exactly sure what that thing was, I went out for a day with a couple friends who were in the pool service business. I was immediately intrigued with what I found and knew this was something I could be passionate about providing. Fast forward 4 years later and still "living the chlorine dream" !
