An irrigation line repair turned into an irrigation system replacement but the bid was very fair and the work was completed on time. Excellent work and I would definitely recommend them.
Great craftsmanship! Timely repair, courtious, pleasant professional. Would recommend him.
While the job is not quite done, I am very leased with the progress they have made. The workers that Oscar brought or sent out to work were wonderful. The photos I am submitting today are of some massive 20 - 30' tall ugly concrete block pillars that permits wanted to hold up deck roof. One of his masons is an 80+ year old gentleman who turned ugly into art!
Repair and resurface roof; find and repair leaks; repair interior water damage. Very high quality and professional work; fair price; courteous, prompt service. I learned a lesson which is, it's much better to work with a truly professional company, rather than with low cost, non-professionals. I recommend this company very highly.
The Klean Up Patrol crew took care of removing all the yard debris and even did more than I had requested. An irrigation pipe burst, probably caused by me moving some debris near it, and they even repaired that before they left. These are a couple of hard working people. They never stopped to rest even though I had suggested they do so and they worked an extra hour after the 5 hours agreed upon at no extra charge. I plan to hire them again in a few weeks.
A microburst of wind blew approximately 30% of the roof off my mothers house. The wind was so strong it peeled the roof off from the front of the house to rear, and as the material peeled back it even moved the cooler, taking out a ventilation pipe as well. My mom contacted her insurance company and they sent out a contractor to estimate the cost to repair the roof. Much to our surprise, the quoted price to repair the roof by this company, which shall remain anonymous, was several thousand dollars; perhaps the price we imagined it would be to do the entire roof. This price seemed quite exorbitant to repair just a portion of the roof, so we decided to get a couple other quotes on our own. To say the least, this company was very underhanded in their dealings. The contractor actually contacted the insurance company and told them that we had already signed a contract for them to do the work. This was obviously an attempt to get the insurance company committed, and it almost worked. The insurance company sent a check with the contractors name, which had to be canceled as we were not going to get a partial repair at such a high cost. As you can imagine, this was a very stressful time for my mother and I because if any rains came, water would have easily gotten into the house causing further damage. I decided to search for reputable companies that could be trusted and I found Pro Star Construction, owed by Octavio Vasquez. Through my thorough search on the internet, I found many glowing reviews for the Octavio Vasquez which put me at ease. I contacted Octavio and he came out to survey the damage and spoke with my mother in person while I was at work. Although all of the positive reviews I read on Octavio and Pro Star Construction had put me at ease, I was still quite surprised when I spoke to my mother about her experience speaking with Octavio in person. My mother, who is a pretty good judge of a persons character, said that he was very informative about what the roof actually needed, what he would be doing if we went with him, how long it would take, etc. He was just very informative about the entire process and we actually learned a bit about roofing just from speaking with him; for example, the pros and cons of oil based versus water based reflective coatings. Octavio presented 3 detailed quotes: One for just repairing the damaged area, another for repairing the damaged area and maintenance (reflective coat on undamaged portion), and a quote to redo the entire roof. Octavios quote to repair the entire roof was only about $700.00 more than the shady contractor wanted for repairing just the damaged area, which was only about 25-30% of the roof! We decided to have Octavio do the entire roof because of the great pricing and because it had been about 20 years since the last roof was put on. To put it into perspective how competitive on pricing Octavios company is, we did have another quote by another highly rated company, and their quote was over $2,000.00 higher to do the entire roof. Additionally, Octavio displayed his integrity on several occasions because he had many opportunities to do work which was not necessary and he flat out told us it did not need to be done. For example, the house is in need of a paint job and the paint has peeled off of the fascia- wood at the edges of the roof in many areas. This wood looks bad in some areas, and to a person with limited knowledge, it would appear that this wood should be replaced, but Octavio said that it just needs to be prepped and painted, and replacement was not necessary. Can you imagine how many contractors would have been chomping at the bit to do this extra work? Octavio (Pro Star Construction) is a throwback to a time long passed. At time where contractors and other businesses were not just in it to win it and rip people off by overcharging and doing work thats not needed. If you need your roof done, or any other type of work (Octavio does other work as well), I highly recommend you contact Pro Star Construction. I know whenever we need other work done; Octavio will be getting a call from us.

I had a situation where my carpet was getting wet in my master bedroom and I wasn't sure what the cause was. Tom Hiller took a look at it and knew mediately what it was – that my master shower was leaking under the wall. He cut out the drywall repaired it taped and textured and painted it and I can't even tell where the repair was. Great job, fast and courteous!
They reset a brick sidewalk that had sunken parts and repaired a retainer wall someone hit with truck. They came, they worked hard, they did a really good job and they were pleasant and efficient. They also did a great job of cleaning the site afterwards and left us with a new level sidewalk and a retaining wall with perfectly matched blocks. We would certainly recommend them.
Anthony Sanchez remodeled our bathroom, including prepping the shower walls and the floor, and installed ceramic tile on the shower walls and the bathroom floor. He also installed the new shower manifold and all the hardware. He also installed a new toilet as well as the new vanity, sink, and faucet. He repaired the back wall, which needed patching and texturizing. Anthony was prompt and very detail oriented. He worked efficiently and kept everything clean and tidy. He finished the job in the agreed upon time and was courteous and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Anthony.
I hired Tim Martinez to do a variety of handyman tasks around my home, ranging from repairing some roof leaks, crack and drywall repair, interior painting, and water damage repair. So far he has repaired my roof leaks for an extremely reasonable price. He came exactly on time and worked quickly and efficiently. He is very professional in his demeanor and knowledgeable about his craft. While I am having my work done in phases as my finances allow, he is very adaptable to my needs and I know all his work will be excellent. He has told me exactly how much paint I need to purchase and has given me an estimate on the time needed to accomplish each job; based on his time estimate for the roof repairs, I have total confidence that his estimates for future work hours required are right on target. I am very happy to have found him, and very happy to have found Thumbtack.
Once I submitted my request on thumbtacks website, I received several offers from local contractors to complete the job. After reviewing the submissions, I hired Benjamin Thurston to complete the project. He replaced four wooden patio posts at my home. The project was completed while I was at work and he kept me informed on the progress via text, sending me a photo once the repairs were completed. His response to my initial request and subsequent questions were expedient and efficient. His demeanor was polite and professional. I would not hesitate to hire him again.
Mick just remodeled a studio apartment for us. He installed a complete new kitchen and took care of a lot of small repairs and upgrades. We are extremely happy with the outcome. He takes pride in his work and got everything done on time.
Eric was efficient. Called back quickly. Picked up my furniture that very day. Rates were reasonable. Very pleasant to deal with. Terry
