FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are several factors that go into my pricing: -size of company -number of people expected to see the design -how many uses it will have i.e. social media, printed materials, shirt, bag or other merchandise. -intricacy of desired image i.e. do you want an original illustration? A poster design with detailed drawings can start at $800 and if it gets used for multiple things beyond print and social media it can go up to $1500 A logo design starts at $1200. If you are an established business and logo will be widely used it could be $1500. I put a lot of time and craft into logo designs so you are paying for my artistry and commitment to giving you a truly unique logo.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by discovering who my client is and what they want to convey with their graphics. I then find out what my client had in mind for the project and make a note of all the things they want addressed in the design. Once I get a sense of who they are and what they are looking for I start off with a round of sketches. My client will then choose a direction they'd like me to go in. I will go through a few more rounds of refinements before delivering the final files to my client. Logo Design typically takes longer because of how much a logo can define your business.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have both a B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell University and a B.A. in Visual Communication from the University of Arizona. My science training allows me to break down complex ideas into very understandable forms and images. My art degree has trained me to communicate ideas effectively through images. I emphasized my coursework in illustration but also studied traditional print-making and graphic design.
