About
Hello Future Piano Student, My name is Kay and I am an assistant professor of music composition at the Fred Fox School of Music at the University of Arizona. I have played piano for 29 years and have 12 years of experience teaching piano to all age groups, from three year old children to 65 year old adults. With so many years of experience, I has developed a very active and creative teaching style. My piano lessons are fun, creative, efficient, and full of energy. I devotes time to know my students and tailors lessons to each individual because I believes each person has a different personality, and different way of perceiving and absorbing knowledge. Because of COVID, the structure and means of education completely changed. I have spent countless hours to find the best way to provide remote piano lessons that could bring out the same or even better leaning outcome than in person lessons. I have received so many positive feedbacks of my new and exciting remote piano lessons. While piano takes practice and dedication, I am confident we can develop a study plan to help you achieve your piano playing goals.  To get a sense of what you wish to achieve, as well as to become acquainted with one another, I offer a free 30 minute introductory lesson. Please contact me for to schedule your free introductory lesson.  I look forward to possibly becoming your piano teacher. $40 for 30 mins lesson $50 for 45 mins lesson $65 for 60 mins lesson If you want a professional piano teacher with high artistic standards for yourself or your kids, Kay's Piano Lessons is right for you. I am dedicated to hear your personal musical goals and help you achieve them. My piano lessons and music theory lessons are joyful and help my students to reach their highest music potential.

In just a matter of a few lessons I have been able to come along very far. She has been very supportive and really knows her stuff when it comes to piano. Would recommend to anyone interested in piano.

Very friendly & professional, and gets on well with my daughter who can be a little inattentive/unfocused. She seems to be able to pull her into focus well. Lessons are on UT campus so very convenient for east side.

We were blessed to have Ms. Kay for our kids piano lessons. Our kids have separate piano interests and learning curves. Ms Kay worked well with both of them, identifying their individual strengths and weaknesses and working with them. We wish her the best on her move to another state.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been teaching music theory courses and piano lessons since 2004. I taught University of Texas at Austin undergraduates and employed as a piano teacher at a piano academy for five years. I love teaching; it makes me feel great to pass on my knowledge.
