With an MFA in creative writing (University of Arizona) and many years experience practicing the 'sullen craft' of metaphor in verse form, I have a highly developed ear for grace and music in language coupled with training in rhetoric and logic. A centerpiece of my effort in this way has been the writing of a narrative epic poem called "The Lotus King" that tells the story of Padmasambhava, the great Buddhist master who established Buddhism in Tibet in the 8th century. The process of composing this work has enabled me to develop acute sensitivity to the relationship between language and whatever level of meaning one wishes to convey.
