FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Flat prices, no surprises: $18 per tape at any length (professional formats like U-matic and Betacam are $28), $18 per film reel, and $0.72 per photo, slide or negative, with 20% off at 1,000 or more. A repair is $5 a tape, only when it's needed and only after you OK it. Blank tapes and tapes that can't be played cost nothing. Your private cloud link is included, and a USB drive or DVD is $10. A rush job usually costs nothing extra.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
You tell me what you have, and I give you a free quote. Then you drop the box off at the studio, I pick it up (within 20 miles, $25 each way), or you mail it with my free shipping label, insured up to $100. I check every item first and tell you about any repair before I touch it. When the work is done, I send your invoice and your private cloud link together, so you watch your files before you pay. Then your originals come back to you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've made videos for a living since 2008, and I worked in pro application support at Apple. I started Memory Converter in 2020. Since then I've digitized more than 4,000 tapes and 75,000 photos.
