Introduction: Tennis should be made simpler, not more complicated. My coaching is based on what I call "Guided Discovery" -- a simple idea where very minimal scripted instruction is given so that the player achieves a free-flow state called "The Zone." Players should be guided to discover the game by themselves rather than have a memorized script from the coach. And that's my job -- to guide you through the process of learning in an individualized method that fits personal needs.

Khoa has worked with me for over 5 years as a coach and helped me get a spot on the UC Santa Cruz Tennis Team. Great coach, great mentor, but most of all great person! Khoa is a great coach not only for his technical knowledge of the game, but also for his clarity in communication. He explains complex ideas in very simple terms and he makes the ideas stick as habits. While the coaches I had growing up tried to explain tennis in very complicated ideas, Khoa kept things simple yet delivered concise personal coaching. He seems to understand that each player and each person is different, so his messages to me have always been very personalized. Everyone knows that sports is at least 50% mental, and he has always given me confidence in my game while fine tuning my technique so that I was able to perform well under pressure. With Khoa, we made a lot progress on my footwork, minimized my weakness on the backhand side, and developed my serve into somewhat of a weapon! 5/5 would recommend!

I have 15 years of playing experience and was the #1 player on the De Anza College Men's Tennis team. With 7+ years of coaching experience, I've started young kids off as early as the age of 4 and helped top-ranked juniors in the NorCal section into college programs.
