FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The thing to remember is that photographers are artists. They vary by style and experience and reputation. For example, a photographer that specializes in landscape photography may not make a good portrait photographer and visa versa. Some photographers specialize in Photojournalistic style of wedding photography, some are more traditional. Same for portraits, some are studio style and some are more candid style. You really need to find someone that has the same style as you do. I can't stress this enough. If you don't like that style, your not going to like the photos! The cheapest photographer may not offer the experience and knowledge to capture the important moments. Remember, the mall photographers are usually teenagers that have had an little training and the wonderful portraits you see adorning the walls of the studio were probably done by highly paid photographers at their corporate offices in New York or Los Angeles. Reputation is important as well, find someone that has lots of testimonials. You don't want a photographer that doesn't show up for your portrait or wedding do you? And of course, we have all heard the stories of the couple that has waited MONTHS for their wedding photos. One couple I know of personally was divorced before they got their photos back. Remember the cheapest photographer may not seem like such a good deal if they don't provide you with work that is good enough to use. If you find a photographer that you like, but seems a little expensive, ask about specials or things that can be done to get a better price, many professionals will work with you.
