Charles and his helper did a great job cleaning our carpet, fixing some dry wall holes, and installing a shower door that had issues. They did it all, did it well, and did it for a reasonable price. They are professionals, don't hesitate to hire them for your home projects.

We hired QuikDry Carpet & Tile Cleaning to clean the tile in a 300 Square foot room and clean the carpets in two adjoining rooms. The tile grout had not been professionally cleaned in over 20 years and the carpets in almost as many years. When they finished, the tile and carpet looked wonderful. The very reasonable cost we were quoted is exactly what we were charged not a penny more. They showed up on time and were done with the entire job in less than two hours and were absolutely courteous and professional. I would definitely hire QuikDry Carpet & Tile Cleaning again. Max B. Adrian was professional and did a great job. My carpet was pretty dingy with darker high traffic areas that I wasn't able to get out with rental rug cleaners. Adrian got all the dark spots out and had my carpet looking like new in about an hour. Since he doesn't use a lot of water it doesn't take too long to dry either. I highly recommend him.

Agustine was very pleasant and had great customer service skills. I feel very uncomfortable when strangers come to my home, but Agustine was very professional. He was always smiling and easy to talk to which made the experience even better! On top of that my carpet has never looked better! I will continue to have Chem-Dry clean my carpets! Hopefully all the staff are as good as Agustine.

Heaven’s Best did an outstanding job with cleaning my carpets. I have a 2-bedroom house that they did work on. The price was fair and the work was done in a timely manner with excellent results. The owner explained to me how the process worked and how most typical stains and soiled areas are treated. I really like how fast the solution dries and how clean the carpet looks and feels. I would recommend this service to my family and friends. The time for sure, I will be calling Andrew and Heaven’s Best!

I've used Mike's team at All-Star Chem Dry 2 years ago for the first time, again last month when my condo was about to go on the market, and now we have another appointment with them this week on our new house before we move in. They are fantastic! Mike, Anthony & Luke have always been super friendly, professional, and prompt. Mike is responsive and calls or texts when he says he will, which goes a long way these days. I'd heard so many carpet cleaning horror stories, I was nervous to have my carpets done at all. But I found All-Star Chem Dry with superb reviews on Yelp, and they're absolutely my go-to guys now. So happy to have a carpet cleaner we can trust to do great work. Thanks All-Star!

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

        Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

        What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.
