Mike J. says, "After our insane weekend heatwave, my AC unit began blowing warm air. Reached out to Fuse Monday, received an almost immediate (human) response and follow up the next day to schedule a tech (Tony) to come and diagnose the problem. Tony was absolutely amazing. Anytime I have a repair person come to my house, I'm immediately on the defense, waiting for a BS upsell opportunity to present itself - none presented themselves here. Tony was patient, never seemed rushed, explained (multiple times) what the problem could be and options to repair based on the potential scenarios: bandaging options to the inevitable potential full unit repair. It was determined that the system has a leak somewhere (confirmed by me needing to add refigerant once a year for the past couple of years, so this was no surprise). I opted to run leak sealant through the unit in hopes of plugging the micro-leak, but stopped short of doing a full on leak test, given the unit is 11 years old and would need to be replaced in a few years anyway. Never at any point did I feel pressured. He gave pricing upfront for each of the options and gave his opinion on the longevity of each. If the rest of the Fuse team is anything like Tony, I have no need to reach out to any other HVAC company - they're now a permanent part of my team."See more

David V. says, "My partner and I interviewed four electricians before we found Mario. Instantly after the meeting, we knew we found our guy. Mario is responsible, communicative, and a straight-shooter. He's very knowledgeable about electrical work and you'll be impressed by his desire to implement best practices. We enlisted Mario to install two brakers, additional wall outlets, and kitchen lighting in our studio. He went above and beyond -- in addition to our original ask, he helped us with installation of the ceiling fan and outdoor sensor lights. We were so impressed by his professionalism and dedication to the task. He went out of his way to ensure our other contractors (general handymen and dry wall installer) were working in conjunction with his finished product. We're going to be remodeling our office next and will definitely be calling Mario back to help us out with new electrical! Thanks so much Mario (and congrats on your newborn)!"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Do electricians do free estimates?

Yes, they do. Whether you’re looking for new electrical work or wiring repair, the electrician should offer you a free estimate.

Go online to find the best electricians near you. After researching and finding a few pros who seem qualified for your job, go ahead and request a quote to find out how much those electricians will charge you.

How do I hire an electrician?

Go online to find a list of the best electricians in your area. View each individual electrician’s profile and learn more about their services and expertise. Then, read reviews from satisfied customers as well as any issues they may have encountered. This will help you find one with the right experience to work safely in your home.

You should also spend some time researching what qualifications and credentials they have. You might find information about their license on their profile, or you might need to check your local and state government’s website to verify their license.

Once you’ve done a bit of research, ask to receive free estimates from several electricians in your area. Ultimately, hire the most qualified electrician who can complete your project at a reasonable price.

Is it worth it to hire an electrician?

Yes, it's usually worth it to hire an electrician instead of doing the work yourself.

Electrical work can be very dangerous. The pros spend many years working and studying before they become licensed and certified. That knowledge and training can help them work safely and perform the job without harming themselves or your home.

Even a small wiring repair job can be unsafe if not done correctly. Hiring someone that has specialized training on how to do each specific job is the safest choice.
