Introduction: Robert Bean grew up in Los Angeles, and fell in love with photography at an early age. In 1991, he relocated to New York City to broaden his experience and went to work for Annie Leibovitz as a photographer's assistant. After several years working for her and later for several other internationally recognized photographers, Robert began taking on his own jobs and continues to satisfy clients through creative problem-solving.
His clients have included Sotheby's, Columbia University, McCann- Erickson SF, NBC Entertainment, Pohly, and Partners Inc. among others. When not at work, Robert pursues personal projects and explores his passions for hiking, scuba diving, travel and all the little things that make him smile. Robert recently relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area with his family to introduce his son to skiing, kite flying and life in a car.

The bottom line is that I am very happy with the set of portraits I received after working with Robert. I asked for a simple "head shot" to use for work-related social media profiles; I have now dozens of images and several that are favorites (they look like me, but better!). Some reasons: He knew how to give me directions to capture a variety of different angles and views, he worked with different locations within the park and tried many different ways of working with the light. The session was very efficient and took less than an hour; the price was competitive and more than fair for the quality. I would definitely recommend his work for this type of job as well as others (see his web site).
Added value: It was fun. I was comfortable. Communication, logistics and administrative details were smooth and fast.

Robert arrived early after having scouted the area for good shooting spots. He was very friendly and got beautiful photos back to us the next day. It was exactly what I had in mind.

Robert came in to take a few dozen head shots at our company. He was easy to work with leading up to the shoot, was efficient and kind the day of the shoot, and delivered the photos within a few days, as promised. I look forward to working with Robert again!
