Introduction: I have played with world class artists such as Miles Davis and Gregg Allman. I have a signature tone which I am often asked about. I'm good at explaining things in a clear and simple way. I'm easy going and I tailor my lessons to the individual needs of the student. First, let me preface this with my own admission that I am a real "snob" and my desire to study with anyone at my point in my career has to be satisfied by working with someone I respect more than most. I am so very lucky to have met Garth again after 20 years. I have been a follower and fan of Garth since the night I met him and without spending too much time here, I think it's important to point out that I met him when he was playing with mutual friends/band mates. I was so inspired by his performance that night, I drove home an immediately learned a David Sanborn song he did with my buddies in the band. That was it. I was stricken to say the least. Twenty years later, I ran into Garth when he sat in with me at one of my gigs. We stayed in touch and shortly after that night (only three weeks ago) he offered me his services as a teacher, and mentor. I went to him willingly and passionately. The last time I had been inspired like that night, was the first time I heard another great guitarist who Garth worked with, Robben Ford. What can I say? Two of the greatest in my eyes, and this guy sits in with me? I was flattered and terrified at the same time. I had just pulled off a gig with the lead singer of another group of heroes I had, "Toto" and I was sitting pretty confident, but when Garth plugged in his gear and we started playing, I was hooked yet again. It was actually quite an emotional experience, as I had only dreamed of this night. The cool thing is now, I have played with most of the people Robben and Garth have worked with in this area. I am truly blessed to be even on the edge of their universe, let alone in it. NOW, lets get to Mr. Webber's skills, etc: I'm a bit "partial" here but I also pride myself on my honesty so here goes: What impresses me the most about Garth is that he speaks to me as a friend and as an associate, and not as an icon who could easily be "the master." if you get my drift. Instead, he's pushing me to grow exactly where I need to go.His perception of what I need, his attention to detail, and his ability to let me figure it out with him, is always concise and articulate. At 55 years old, I'm restarting a career that was cut short just a couple years after I first met Garth. He lives as I do, neither of us has any time for BS. I need to grow quickly. In just two lessons, Garth pinpointed what I knew needed I needed to hone in on. He actually knew and told me this, within the first five minutes of our initial lesson. Being a player of over 48 years myself, a fellow artist and studio owner, composer, etc....I know what I want and I want it with no sugarcoating. He's truly a brilliant player, composer, engineer, but he's more. I'll try to bullet point what makes him special to me: 1) He "speaks" to me. In other words, we think alike in many ways. When he says something to me, I hear it in a way I think I would to be heard if I were speaking/playing... 2) He learns WITH me as I learn. To me, that 's the sign of true wisdom. 3) He never talks down to me. Moreover, he is concise, clear, articulate, and sensitive, without ever compromising his character. He teaches and talks to others the way he wants to be talked to. I can't help but respect and admire anyone with those qualities... and at the risk of being redundant, he thinks, plays, learns, and teaches in the style I would want to do the same it the the roles were reverses. I will now end with this... I don't B.S. people. I have no time. It's simple... Garth is more than a great teacher, he's a legend who doesn't act like one. I have played with more "legends" than I care to remember and believe you me, this guy is one of the special ones. I am honored to write this for him, and I end this with the following, I ranted just now, and I only do so, when I really believe I have found something special. I was a core instructor at northern California's "GIT" and at the risk of sounding really arrogant, he's the best I've ever found. See you soon Garth!!! You and I have movie soundtrack music to make! Hello Everyone, Garth took me on as his student a little over a year ago and I could not me more pleased with his expertise in both recording adudio and with guitar playing. To be honest I don't think I've come across a better guitar player in my time. Whether you're a new player just trying to pick up some chords or a well seasoned player that's trying to master the art of lead guitar/ composition I think you won't have to look any further than Garth. He's an excellent teacher! There have been times where he went above and beyond my expectations to ensure that all of my questions are answered and even lends firther advice. Over all I'd give him a 10/10. You won't regret the time you spend with Garth and at the end of the day he's also a really cool dude. Hope you all find this helpful! Best, Benjamin

I initially thought about looking into lessons with Garth after I saw him perform. He's truly an incredible guitar player with a style that is uniquely his own. It's probably why he's been invited to play with legends such as Miles Davis. Shortly after seeing Garth perform, I was playing at a party and happened to meet a guy who said he was a bass player and had only very recently taken up guitar. So when he began playing in an impressive manner, I asked him how he got so good, so quick. His answer was that he'd been taking lessons from Garth. I'd heard enough. I booked lessons with Garth and have been taking lessons with him ever since. Garth's teaching style is very player friendly. He understands that the ultimate goal is to acquire the ability to make great music and to have fun doing it I've had some good teachers in the past, but I've never enjoyed the experience as much as I do with Garth. He's very laid back and able to break down licks and techniques in a manner that is easy to grasp. He allows me to record my lessons and each day I look forward to reviewing the material that we covered. I would highly recommend Garth to anyone looking to learn guitar.

I have been visiting Garth for nearly 4 years for lessons. I keep going back because it is a great and fun experience. When you learn from a player, part of the goal is to assimilate some of that person's technique into your own playing. For any player who has even a passing relationship with the Blues, Garth can and will take you much much further. Just listen to his recordings "Man on a Mission" and "Get a grip on the Blues". Wouldn't you like to have some of that greatness in your musical vocabulary?

Garth Webber is an excellent teacher, a very friendly and very knowledgeable guy! And he also has an organic teaching style and his answers to questions I have, dig deep into what's being addressed and he has a variety of things and ideas for students to focus on, very enjoyable lessons and I get a lot out of them!
