Mikaela Bernhardt of Mikaela Karthik Design is a mural artist and surface pattern designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She draws inspiration from mindful moments, botanicals, global travel / culture, her husband’s Southern Indian heritage, and abstract expression. With a background in Landscape Architecture working on large scale transportation projects, retail hubs, schools, and commercial centers, Mikaela understand the iterative design process and bring a thoughtful balance of professional structure and creative flow to every project. Art has the power to deepen the emotional experience of a place, inform spatial functionality, create meaningful moments for placemaking, and celebrate brand identity, all while telling a story that reflects the people who inhabit it.
