I'm glad that they fixed the problem obviously, but I'm less thrilled that the original quoted cost increased without forewarning. I always prefer to be notified in advance: "hey, sorry but this work is going to cost more, is that OK?" Of course, mostly likely I will say yes... your snake is already a mile up my toilet! But it's still a courtesy that I find important. I am however very happy with the fact that the plumber took time to help me understand the root issue and helped me strategize ways to distribute the cost to the other parties involved.
