FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is simple, transparent, and designed to fit a family’s needs without surprise fees. We never charge onboarding fees, registration fees, or long-term contracts. You only pay for the services you choose. Families can start with single sessions or save more with monthly plans. We also offer group classes and an affordable unlimited tutoring option for students who benefit from consistent weekly support. If a student needs multiple subjects or long-term help, we provide customized plans to help families get the best value without sacrificing quality. Every plan includes progress updates and personalized instruction from top tutors trained in our Smart Start Scholars curriculum.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Quick Consultation We begin with a short phone call to understand the student’s goals, learning style, and current challenges. This helps us recommend the right tutor and plan. 2. Personalized Learning Plan Based on the consultation, we create a clear plan outlining what the student needs, how we’ll approach it, and how progress will be measured. 3. Tutor Match We pair the student with a tutor from top universities who specializes in their subject and grade level. Families can switch tutors at any time if their needs change. 4. First Session & Assessment The first session focuses on understanding the student’s baseline, identifying strengths and gaps, and setting achievable goals. 5. Weekly Instruction & Progress Updates Students meet online at consistent times each week. Families receive ongoing communication so they can see improvement every step of the way. 6. Adjustments as Needed As the student grows, we update the plan to ensure steady progress and long-term success.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our tutors come from top universities and have extensive training in both subject mastery and effective teaching methods. Our team includes graduates and current students from Duke, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and the University of Florida who have strong academic backgrounds in math, science, and test preparation. Every tutor completes Smart Start’s internal training program, which covers curriculum design, online teaching strategies, and student engagement techniques. Many of our tutors have years of experience working with K–12 students, preparing them for standardized tests, or supporting them through advanced coursework. We combine strong academic credentials with structured training to ensure students receive clear instruction, consistent guidance, and measurable results.
