James was great - very friendly and answered all my questions. Even stopped by to drop off stain color options and talk through steps. He was very punctual. Completed the work and cleaned up the areas too. Did a fantastic job of sanding down our side fences and mailbox after it had gotten grey and faded from sun exposure. Restained everything and it looks like new! His pricing is also fair. Really pleased and we are considering him for another project. Would recommend!

James was great! Very responsive to my quote request and he was able to start work the same day. He helped us stain our porch and some steps and a fence section. He spent the time to do a quality job and I couldn't have asked for better results. He even said if the paint starts peeling within a year and he will come back and fix it. You can tell he takes pride in his work. Communication was excellent as well.
James has done a great job on staining our deck board as well as the hanging chair. He paid attention to details and went above and beyond to complete a high quality staining job. Highly recommended.

James was very responsive and quoted a fair price for the fence and pergola painting job at hand. He loves what he does and was always striving to make sure we were happy with the outcome! He came out on the first day to clean the fence and pergola and discuss paint options and what would look and hold up best. He was happy to go to a bunch of hardware stores searching for a particular oil based paint that we wanted to use that wasn’t available easily. He even came back a week after the painting was done to do touch ups and an extra coat on areas that bleach quicker due to the sun! Overall SUPER happy with the outcome and I’ll surely be recommending James and Peninsula Home Maintenance to all my friends and family.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All jobs are very specific due to access, wood choice and condition of wood.
Pricing includes the following; Power-washing, cleaner(if necessary),sanding (if necessary), materials and labor.
Prices start at;
Fences - $4/Sq. foot
Fences with lattice $5/Sq. foot
Decks - $4/Sq. foot
Rails - $5/Sq. foot
Other Services -
Power-washing - $150 Minimum
Window Cleaning - $20/window
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will come estimate free of charge.
We measure and assess the condition/access and discuss realistic expectations.
We discuss color choices, Do we ''conceal or reveal'' (depends on condition).
We are always willing to do a sample area with color choices. Your satisfaction is our #1 goal!
Flexible Scheduling. This is usually a multi-day process; Day 1 - Powerwash and cleaner (if necessary) Day 2 and beyond - Staining.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been restoring decks and fences for almost 15 years as a side job whilst being a union construction worker. I have recently went out on my own and created PHM.
