- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I just recently completed a Masters in Education program. When I find strategies or programs that I feel will benefit my clients, I get trained in that program. The most recent program I have been trained in is the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment Program.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have a brother who was diagnosed with Mental Retardation. I was originally getting my degree in Psychology and Speech and Language Pathology when I found a love for being in the classroom, working with students who have special needs.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Many of my students need intensive work with reading comprehension, writing and and math skills. I have also worked with students who have severe handicaps and need daily life skills, such as money skills, reading menus and bus schedules. I have also helped students who have IEP's to study for the California High School Exit Exam, job preparedness, and organization skills.
