Repaired and replaced joists and subfloor, installed carpet and pad, demoed old patio cover on a manufactured home we are getting to rent. Great service and easy to work with. Does it all. Highly recommend.
Star had her crew lay down Epoxy Flooring on my garage floor and it turned out beautiful! I am 100% satisfied with the results and Star is a delight to work with. Jan Brubaker
Gus was friendly, very responsive and professional. He did a great job installing tile in a small powder room and laundry room. I am very happy with the result and plan on using him again for future projects.
All work was high quality; did everything from installing a shower, plumbing for stacking washer/dryer; toilet installation; installing new windows/doors; refinishing doors; painting; electrical repairs; installation of window air conditioners; floor tile installation, and more.
Carlos is honest, happy young man, who is willing to satisfy his clients. He is a bit slow, but does a nice job. Carlos needs to get more experience in quoting the price for the job. He had to charge us a little more, since he found some work he had not thought about when he gave the estimate. We also had him clean some tile, which he did a good job. Needs more experience cleaning tile...left some a little still dirty. He did say he would come back and reclean them. I would hire Catrlos again for laying tile. I told him that he needed to make better estimates. Good and honesty man.
Jordan as a person was very nice. His inital follow up was prompt and he spoke very highly of his attention to detail. As a first time homeowner, I know little about construction and heavily rely on the expert knowledge of others to assist with our remodel. We hired Jordan after meeting three other contractors based solely on our interaction with him. When we originally had Jordan out to our house it was for a flooring quote only. Jordan explained he also preformed landscaping work on the side so we added that to our list. Jordan did an amazing job installing the floors! The entire dynamic of the house changed because of the floors. I was very disappointed in a few other areas which is the reason for 4 stars. We do not currently live in the house although we do have a few items in place for weekend visits. Towards the end of the job Jordan said that they were mostly finished so I had gone to check out the progress. The tile work in both bathrooms is crooked. The master bath is very noticeable. In addition, my bedding was covered in dust and they had smeared grout into the carpet in my bedroom. There was also sloppy grouting and caulking done in several areas of my home. To add insult to injury his crew decided it was ok to help themselves to my kids popcicles - this actually upset me just asuch as the tile floor. Giving credit where it is due: Jordan and Tim did have my carpets cleaned, my bedding dry cleaned and I was given the option to have them rip up the bathroom floor or receive a discount from my final bill. Jordan did offer to replace the missing popcicles as well although that never did happen. The landscape looks nice as well but we asked to keep the remaining turf and that also didn't happen. I asked jordan about it and he said what was salvageable was in our shed - it wasnt. Again, I was very happy with the floors but the other items make it hard to say if I would rehire for additional projects. Nice guy but I didn't feel like our home was cared for in the way he said it would be. If you do decide to hire Jordan my recommendations would be: 1. Get a detailed breakdown of the work 2. Notate about the use of your personal items (they completely filled up both our garbage cans) 3. Inspect. Inspect. Inspect. Check every corner.
I was the project manager overseeing the reconstruction of the Men’s and Women’s restrooms at First Baptist Church of Indio. Edwin Vela was chosen because of his “can do” attitude and his willingness to work within our limited budget. Our bathrooms were last constructed in early 1970’s. Ed ran into many unforeseen problems, plumbing issues inside and outside of our church. Being a man of integrity, Ed stuck within our budget and tackled these issues on his own. In fact he went beyond that. In an unrelated issue he pointed out obvious water damage in a hallway due to rain; repaired it and gave advice on how to prevent re-occurrence of this issue. The project did go passed scheduled end date. However, it is understood why and welcomed. Ed went beyond his call. Tile, paint, and color schemes were based on his recommendation. We now have commercial bathrooms (both within ADA standards) that have a touch of class. He gave our bathrooms an inviting feel and softness. Ed and his employees were very respectful, easy to work with, and easy to talk to. We are very happy with the results of his work. Vela Construction did a job well done. I recommend them for your construction needs. Sean Strickland Assoc. Min First Baptist Church of Indio.
After obtaining 3 competitive quotes, I hired Gabriel Herrera to demolish a failing 17 year old perimeter wood fence around my rental house in Hemet, CA and replace it with new vinyl fencing. The cost difference between new wood and vinyl fencing was negligible given the on-going maintenance requirements for wood versus the durability and ongoing good looks of Vinyl fencing year after year with little to no maintenance required. After signing a contract, Mr. Herrera (and his crew) immediately proceeded with the scope of work which included demolition, hauling away, and installation of 174 L.F. of Vinyl fencing (including installation of 2 man-gates). The project was finished on time in 2.5 days. Quality of the work was excellent and my adjoining neighbors were pleased to the point of desiring his contact information for their future use. You can feel comfortable that Gabriel Herrera will do what he says he will do.
Recently, I purchased an older home and was in need of an electrician to help me figure out how to add lighting to my ceiling. My home was built in 1950 and the electrical needed a lot of patience as well as know how to make it work with what I had in mind. David did an excellent job figuring out the wiring and strange setup to make the lighting work just the way I had envisioned it. He installed dimmer switches and track lighting into four rooms of my house as well as capped off some other outlets there were just unnecessary. I will definitely be calling on him in the future for more electrical work.
J & M are everything you hope for when hiring a contractor for your home. The timeline was as promised, constant updates throughout the project, high quality workmanship and a desire to please the customer. I would highly recommend J & M for any home project. Our project included floor tile installation throughout our home, entertainment center installation, and fireplace renovation. We are very pleased with the results!
Bathroom. Complete gut, replace tub, flooring, walls, vanity/sink. Ed worked with us through out the project. Very helpful with deciding on details. He picks up all materials and everything is cleaned up at end. I am a residential contractor from another state but did not have time for this project. I know the trade and feel comfortable with his level of knowledge and experience. Ed goes the extra mile to do the right thing. He is already working up a quote for another job for us.
Laura is a breath of fresh air. Punctual, organized, detail orientated, We have a large home and I hired Laura to come in every two weeks to clean all the living room, kitchen and family room floors, clean and dust all baseboards, surfaces, ornaments, pictures, and both bathrooms. She really makes a difference
Reliable and professional
David has been informative, knowledgable, and extremely helpful throughout our entire remodel process. He has proven to exceed our expectations repeatedly. Originally we had hired him to install our flooring and have now had him help with many other projects. I would highly recommend David and Rubarth Construction to anyone in need.
We were fortunate enough to find Kevin Farmer to replace all the carpets in our home with concrete. All the other contractors we spoke to told us that concrete could not be placed over wood on second floors. Kevin did the research to find a new product and learn the process. The result was spectacular. He stained the floors to have an old world look that is consistent with the Tuscan style of the house. He gave us a very fair price, was a pleasure to work with and exceeded our expectations. We are very happy to know a contractor who we would trust with any job.
I hired Rigoberto to tear out an old XO window and install a new one, the work was done great in a timely manner, I later called him to install a swamp cooler and we where very satisfied with his work with that too!
5 Stars! Hands down! Easy experience, great quality, fair prices!
I am a hard-working individual who has a vast knowledge off most construction applications with a fair and reasonable price that will only broaden my customer base here in the desert
