FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge monthly and pro-rate over the holidays. Make-up lessons are offered for cancellations as long as 24 hours of notice were given.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll pre-screen new students based on skill, prior experience, and interests, and then take a guess at what the best method approach will be for them. I test this out in the first lesson and following lessons and make an adjustment before the end of the first month if necessary. Between Piano Adventures, Musicolor, Wunderkeys, and my own new story-based method The Little Pianist, there is an approach via method that works for just about every student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of Arts (Music). Master in Music Composition. I worked for Myriad Music School, Village Music, and Vibo Music in the bay area for multiple years, each studio had different standards and approaches that have given me well-rounded professional education and experience in piano pedagogy and technique. Trumpet has been my primary instrument and source of my experience as a professional musician for the past 20+ years. I play piano for composing and recording music. I auditioned on piano for my Composition studies program at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, with the repertoire including one of my own pieces. See my youtube channel.
