Shannon was my photographer for my wedding, and she was amazing! Having worked dozens of weddings myself (as a hairstylist), I knew what I did and didn't want as a bride. Shannon seemed to have read my mind! She was laying on the ground, jumping on chairs, and giving just the right amount of direction to us to get the shot. I never felt rushed or posed, and I pretty much forgot she was there. She had the creativity and talent to capture my most precious moments, but the ability to be unobtrusive. I think that's the mark of a true artist. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

Shannon is pretty incredible. I searched for a long time for a photographer that was creative and did not take the usual staged, overly stock, over-exposed, bright looking wedding photos. I wanted something artistic, gritty, yet sophisticated and natural looking. I really wanted to capture the 'feeling' of the day, rather than just the images of it. Shannon captured the mood of our day so remarkably well. The way she captures light is incredible. The pictures had a refined, elegance but were still real and moody. I was confused at first because we didn’t get married in a Japanese Zen garden but she made it look like we did and I was so thrilled about it! It's funny because in my mind, when she was shooting I was worried about every little odd thing that would show up on film, but somehow she masked everything so creatively with shadow and light that everything just looked better than my memory served me. She was very communicative before the wedding day as well and calmed all my fears and answered all my questions. She also managed the chaos of the day so well, whether it was rallying the guests for group photos or being patience while we delayed our bride/groom portraits many times. She worked so well with the separate videographer that I hired as well. Shannon took the lead and made sure that the videographer got every shot that she needed for the video, while making sure to get what she needed as well. We are so thankful to have found her, she was a great companion throughout our special day and her talent is undeniable.

Shannon recently took our engagement photos and was so game for every scenario. As a couple, we love the outdoors and Shannon gamely suggested a camping shoot to capture us in our happy place. She was more than willing to boulder hop and scramble to chase the light. When we came upon a police blockade on the way to one of the shoot locations, she suggested we capitalize on time by simply shooting in a field and some gorgeous shots resulted from that shoot. Needless to say, regardless the setting, Shannon has an eye for capturing moments of intimacy and fun. Her eye for light and willingness to experiment meant she captured a wide variety of shots. She is uniquely skilled at photographing both people and nature. We are so happy with the results and really value the memories that have been captured in perpetuity, thanks to Shannon.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I shoot almost everyday and am continually plugged into workshops. I study the work of those photographers that I love and I practice, practice, practice.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Photography picked me. I woke up on January 1st of 2013 and said (with no prior history or prompting) I am going to photograph every day for a year. I fell in love ~ literally. I get woosy and butterflies when I touch my camera or see other photographers doing the same. At first it was a little alarming but I have grown used to it. Photography is a meditation for me. It allows me to drop into a serene and peaceful place.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am proud every time a client opens up to me and let's me in. When I get to see the character of an individual bloom in front of the camera I am proud. It doesn't matter who it is or how many times it happens. If a couple allows me to witness an actual private moment - I am proud.
