Introduction: Hello my name is George, and I was introduced to tennis at the age of 12. From that day on I was captivated, and excited about learning the game of tennis. I started playing tennis with my twin brother and from that point on we both started tennis lessons and playing constantly.
After graduating high school we started competing in Men's NTRP and USTA Men's open tournaments throughout California. Reaching 30 ranking in Men's open level singles. In college I played at the #1 singles position at Fullerton college. My brother reached a Men's open ranking of 32 the same year and played #1 mens singles at Chaffee college. My brother and I continued to play NTRP and USTA Men's open tournaments for over 20 years competitively. My coaches and training as I grew up learning were
from both styles of classical serve and volley to the modern aggressive baseline approach. I had great coaching early on with a high concentration on the fundamentals. Great fundamentals last a lifetime and are very important to learn early on.
What differentiates our coaching from others is our many years of teaching plus our over 20 yr. background of playing competitive tennis tournaments week in and week out. The mental
toughness and experience we gained from all those matches is what I can pass on to all my students.
My coaching background: I have over 30 years teaching and playing experience. I have taught group lessons and private lessons for all ages. From 3 years old and up. Juniors and adults as well.
5 years teaching at the Downey tennis club in Downey. 8 years head instructor at the Ace tennis academy in Anaheim. 12 years teaching at a private home in Long Beach.
My teaching style and approach. I teach an all court game so my students can learn to adjust to any style of play they may encounter.
My lessons include a complete player development approach: Grips and stances, Stroke production and technique for all strokes, Footwork training and agility, Mental fortitude training,
tennis intelligence, strength and endurance training, strategy and adaptive strategy techniques, and last but not least character and ethics in tennis.
If you cheat and win you already lost. If you lose, but tried your hardest you will always be considered a winner! The life lessons in tennis are vast!
Winning is great, but we tend to learn more from our losses than our wins. With the right perspective you will always be a winner because even if you lose there is a lesson
to be learned you couldn't have learned if you had won.
Why I chose tennis teaching. They say do what you love, and since I love tennis, teaching was a natural choice.
I look forward to helping you on your tennis journey!
