FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally can't accurately quote pricing on construction projects without going out to the site and looking at the area. Rough estimates over the phone are free. We do have a minimum charge for driving out to do a consultation, leak detection or for general cleaning or repair work. Sending us photos and asking questions is free!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually we get a phone call or an email from a prospective client and I then set up an appointment to meet at the residence to look at the site and go over a plan. For new construction I will typically come out and measure the area, do sketches and try to guide my clients through some different options available and discuss some various design possibilities. We brainstorm, we look through pictures of previous projects we've done and sometimes we do a little searching online for visual aids to help illustrate an idea, concept or style. In general when I go out to a home or business to do an estimate I try to help them bring their creative visions and ideas to life on paper. My goal is to establish a clear picture of what is expected so that both the client and I are on the same page throughout the duration of the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years of construction experience. Some of my education is from college and some is from going to vocational type training to prepare for my state licensing exam. Most of it is from direct on the job project experience. I currently hold a California state contractor's license classification for landscape construction C-27. This allows us to do a wide range of construction projects outside of the house, but restricts us from contracting any work within the house. I have been doing water feature repair and maintenance work for several years. I offer solutions for wide variety of maintenance and repair issues.
