About

Hello I am an experienced middle school tutor who loves building children’s confidence through direct/pointed compliments and constructive redirection. I was never satisfied with student’s results when I was in a classroom settings. Teacher’s focus are forced in many directions veering away from students. My skills are best suited for one-on-one learning in a student-centered environment. I am most happy teaching specifically to the individual, taking them from where they are and together going where they need be: Feeling proud, confident and successful in their academic journey. I am welcoming new students now. I work especially well with students that need to develop alternative methods for learning. My former and current students have prepared and continue to teach me how to better teach those suffering with low confidence, poor scholastic discipline/drive, depression, ADD/ADHD and anxiety disorders.

Michelle is wonderful! We have a 14 year old 8th Grader and she has him more relaxed and organized in a short period of working with him. She’s teaching him great study habits, helping him retain what he’s learning, and even better health habits for eating and exercise. My son felt comfortable and excited to work with her immediately during their first visit

Michele worked with my family/son for roughly a year and a half. She would pick him up from school and come and complete all of his homework with him and help him keep it organized. For my son, whom has ADHD, this was hugely helpful. Michele was very flexible with scheduling, Also hugely helpful. As parent we all know that having open communication with the teachers/care persons in our children’s lives is very important, Michele is very easy to communicate with so that everyone is on the same page.

My husband and I appreciate Michele so much. She is actually considered part of the family. She has helped our son with his grades, but more importantly his confidence and motivation. I get right to business, set up goals, get insights into past learning obstacles and successes and design a lesson plan with student/parent goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught in middle and high school. I’ve tutored for years. My brother has ADHD, being latchkey kids, I was his after school tutor everyday from early primary through ninth grade.
