I met Laurel while she was working at my local health club in Chicago over 12 years ago. She was very knowledgeable about the body and pilates. I certainly felt stronger after weekly private sessions with Laurel so I continued to see her regularly. After a few years I was pregnant with my 1st of 3 pregnancies. Laurel was the best exercise for me during those 3 years! I learned how to work hard while breathing properly in labor positions. I truly believe she was key to me delivering 3 babies without pain medications with the help of a midwife at Prentice Hospital. Birthing classes gave me the information, but Laurel actually helped me practice. She was always patient with me while we worked through aches and pains, yet always pushed me to challenge myself. I highly recommend Laurel to anyone, beginner to advanced, that needs a fantastic pilates instructor. .

I was initially introduced to Laurel by my 92 year old friend. Pilates with Laurel and the benefits were reinvigorating her daily experience of a senior life. I was having trouble limping and had been diagnosed with bilateral hip replacement . Laurel has random quarterly offers .I took advantage of the one time free trial & assessment. Her language and understanding of the human body allowed me to feel confident about moving forward with my surgeries. Clearly I had found the correct teacher with which to learn how to move again. Three years later I remain committed to experiencing my life with a love and respect for movement. Laurel is committed to this work and her clients. Her mission is to introduce the value of Joseph Pilates traditional work, to people requiring rehabilitation as well as avid athletes. Only patience and experience can serve such a broad range of needs. There is a distinct difference between Laurel's teachings of Joseph Pilates traditional work and most of what is marketed in the fitness world. My best analogy is Classic Ballet in comparison to Martha Graham . Laurel is part of a small community of Pilates teachers living Joseph Pilates work as well as growing longingly in his studies. On more than one occasion she has patiently coached me through a series of movements . The end result is a increased range of of motion and quality of life. Today I live with a greater knowledge of what part of my body is moving , what part of my body is yearning to stretch. Nancy Sinatra's song " These boots were made for Walkin " has great a great beat for Laurel's song " This body was made for moving! "
