Responds within a day

Introduction: Our number one goal is to exceed our client's expectations for design, cost and schedule. The axiom "anything is possible" is true -- but, design concepts need to be developed within the constraints of cost and time. As experienced builders and architects our office is capable of running cost estimates from the beginning of your project. We don't guess at costs, we work every day with contractors, electricians, plumbers, tile setters, cabinet makers, structural engineers, soil engineers, landscape designers, and more, which gives us intimate knowledge in the reality of good design within affordable budgets and realistic schedules. Creativity and collaboration. It's pretty simple, I really enjoy creating solutions that fit your lifestyle and personality, your goals and ambitions. It's not easy to achieve. Our philosophy is that great design comes from great relationships. We strive to build those relationships through communicating clear, productive goals. The reward comes when a homeowner recommends me to their friends and family. Or, a business owner shares compliments of the design from their customers. Participating in a creative field such as architecture and construction (yes, construction is creative too) is enjoyable when ideas are built and made into reality.

We just brought on Aaron to work with us on our 2nd floor addition. We are creative people and it was great to meet a like minded Architect that has a passion for creativity. His excitement for the project is fantastic. He also helps you understand the process of what it takes to get permits, etc. It can be a daunting process but he takes his time to explain what needs to happen which is very refreshing. While he is very creative, he also has a keen sense for making sure what you want to do will work not only short term but long term as well. He seems to love what he does and wants to see people's vision and dream come true. At the same time he is budget conscious (which is very rare in this process we have to say) and looks for ways to make your budget go as far as it can without sacrificing the integrity of the project or cutting corners so that the end result is not the highest quality possible.

Aaron and his team at Torrence Architects are extremely talented. They are able to blend superior design with sensibility for a busy family. Aaron is very knowledgeable, patient, easy to work with and has a very strong work ethic. We would highly recommend him for any size project and am looking forward to working with his team again in the near future.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I create designs that are site specific solutions and respond directly to my client's needs and goals. Instead of bringing a predetermined design aesthetic, I search to uncover creative solutions that address a specific problem. I believe that great relationships create great design. Through detailed communication and an analysis of the site and project constraints, I work to develop designs that are beautiful, timely, and on budget.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My first experience with architecture and construction was the remodel of my parent's house when I was very young. The entire process of sketching and drawing, and then watching the construction formed a strong memory. Since then I loved to draw and never thought about being anything other than architect. I started as an intern in an architectural office, eventually running multi-million dollar projects for a renowned Los Angeles architect. I decided to start my own practice as an architect because I believe in making a difference through good design and I am a contractor because I can help successfully execute my client's goals.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

As a licensed architect and general contractor, much of my work is design and construction for custom homes throughout Los Angeles, Pasadena, Beverly Hills, and Pacific Palisades. Over the years we have also designed projects for retail, commercial and restaurant clients. We work with talented consultants and engineers to provide cost effective solutions. Many of our projects focus on meeting strict budgets and deadlines. We differentiate ourselves because we are also the general contractor for our own design projects allowing us to fully execute the client's goals for design, cost, and schedule.
