I am a 3rd generation Carpenter and General Building Contractor. I have more than 16 years of experience in building custom homes and other custom forms of carpentry. I have the ability to design from scratch or tweak a design with the best overall outcome in mind. I work best with clients that allow me the freedom to do so and the ones that understand that construction work is a process. I hope to make the experience with your project as enjoyable as possible.

Nick did a wonderful job installing molding to a room in our house. We are converting this office to a nursery and we wanted molding to elevate the room before we paint. I was super pleased with the work Nick did. He is very knowledgeable and skilled. He is also efficient and completed this job in the amount of hours he estimated. Would definitely use Nick again for future jobs.
Details: Wainscoting (less common) • Drywall • Yes, I will provide the molding or trim • This is just an installation job - no design needed • Solid wood • I do not need it painted or stained

Nick saved us! Movers at a rental unit left the door jammed so we could not get in. Nick responded to our last-minute request on a Saturday and fixed the door and threshold, changed the locks, plus fixed a closet door and a back door slider and screen. He went out of his way to find reasonable solutions that didn't involve a lot of time and money. He's a very personable guy!

Nick is incredible! I hired Nick to create a desk for my clients home office and I knew it wasn’t an easy task given that we wanted it to function on an adjustable uplift frame. We went over the design plan and he turned my drawing into a solid beautiful piece of furniture. The time, care and effort he put into it you’re not going to find with anybody else. Trust me, as an Interior Designer I tried and it’s hard to find quality workers out here LA. He takes great pride in the details of everything in this piece which was masterfully done. The frame is completely hidden, drawers are large and spacious. The hidden compartment to plug in electronics was beautifully done. The thoughtfulness he put into rounding the edges to feel comfortable to open and close the top was so amazing. I purchased some drawer pulls that he had to integrate into the drawer fronts which was no easy task but he made it work. I can’t express enough about the quality and care that went into this it’s so dope and my client is in love with her desk! It came at a high price tag and worth EVERY CENT! Nick doesn’t cut corners and doesn’t half a** anything. He’s thorough, transparent and will save you money if you want the job done right THE FIRST TIME! His work ethic is incredible and was so easy to work with. Don’t be cheap and try to lowball him. He’s amazing! Thanks again Nick, I’ll be in touch with the next project!

Nick custom-built a kitchen cabinet to match & replace a damaged one and also custom-made some trim work for my entryway. The work was great, and he went out of his way to comply with my condo building’s rules and keep the areas clean, as there was limited-to-no outdoor space to work in. Super easy & pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Even though every job is unique and site specific. I typically charge $75 an hour for my time plus a 20% mark up on all materials and subs. I charge a $300 minimum for half a days worth of work even for small jobs. Up charges may happen due to difficulty added based on location accessibility, drive times or specific deadlines. I like to operate with an open book cost plus model so everything is transparent. These days since there is such a fluctuation in prices and availability with materials it’s in both our interest to have open communication about the costs and lead times.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by listening and then I outline my understanding of the project, while setting up a time for a site survey. At the conclusion of this meeting you and I should have all of the information needed to proceed. I schedule the project to set up a timeline and collect a down payment that goes toward design, the first run of materials or both. Typically depending on size I like to work jobs consistently until completion. So once you’ve got my attention it’s yours. I communicate regularly to make sure we’re on track and you stay updated. I see the project through making sure that it’s completed in a timely manner while ensuring that a certain level of quality is met.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Licensed Contractor. I owe most of my education to experience in the field as well as my own research. Up until last year I’d attend seminars on products and new methods semi regularly. Now I rely on social media and YouTube to remain current.
