I hired Kenia a couple of years ago to learn traditional Cuban music on guitar. I'm a huge fan of Cuban music, and quite honestly had a hard time learning how to play it on my own. The rhythmic styles were something she was able to help me understand and ultimately master. What was also great is that she showed me how to play her interpretations of songs like "Obsesion" which was really cool, and challenging, but definitely rewarding especially when I play the song(s) with others. I have always been a big fan of Flamenco music, from Paco de Lucia to Vicente Amigo. She also helped me learn how to play Rumba Flamenca, "Tres Notas Para Decir Te Quiero" by Vicente Amigo, "Entre Dos Aguas" by Paco de Lucia, and much more. Flamenco is a really challenging style to learn and I think she did an excellent job in getting me to the level I desired to the point where I can now play Flamenco confidently, and have the ability to now learn more on my own as well. I would recommend Kenia to anyone wanting to learn guitar of any style. Her broad versatility and proficiency as a master guitarist allows her to understand how to instruct students who want to learn Cuban, Flamenco, Jazz, Rock, Classical, and more. Kenia is another caliber musician that you don't encounter often.

Kenia is an outstandingly gifted musician. I started taking lessons with her a couple of months ago, and I cannot be happier. I started from zero, since I had not studied music since I was I child, and I did not have any guitar experience. I am doing a huge progress thanks to her amazing lessons. I am really motivated and inspired by her classes since we started. Kenia is very knowledgeable, and an excellent and dedicated teacher, with experience with a broad variety of styles. She has also adapted to my musical taste, incorporating some of my favorite songs into our lesson plan. I am currently working on some Belle and Sebastian songs that I love, and I am so happy to be able to play them on guitar and ukulele. I am very grateful with my results and to have Kenia as a music and guitar teacher. I can only strongly recommend her to anyone who loves music and would like to have a truly personalized experience with guitar lessons.

Kenia is an excellent musician. I had the opportunity to work with her doing some gigs a while back, and she was outstanding. Great taste to accompany my voice, great choice of styles that fitted me and very knowledgeable about her job. In short, very professional and skilled. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I've worked with Kenia in composition, performance, and pedagogy. While we were both student at UC Berkeley as music majors, I had a lot of opportunity to assess her abilities and found her to be consistent, insightful, persistent, and dedicated. The only point of discontent I can recall was scheduling: we missed study and practice sessions because we were on different media forms, i.e., she was messaging me via social media when I wasn't near a computer and I was trying to call her when she had her phone off.

Thank you for your review Abbey. Berkeley was a great experience and yes, scheduling sometimes was difficult, specially when we were rehearsing in groups. I am thankful for having had the opportunity to work with insightful and intelligent people like yourself.
