FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began my career in the field of advertising/photography coordinating fashion and product photo shoots for a large retail department store. For several years, I worked with, and assisted, some well-known photographers in San Francisco who taught me the technical aspects of using large, medium, and small format cameras. Also, they shared their various visual presentation and lighting techniques which allowed me to develop my eye for composition. I am still in communication with some of them who are now friends; those who still shoot commercially. Presently, we are all sharing new discoveries and how to improve our images.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
During a time when I needed some fast cash, I was asked by a friend if I would be interested in some temporarily work in the advertising division of a large retail department store. I said "yes", and about a year later, I accepted an offer of employment to be the photography coordinator for that company. About five years later, a few seasoned fashion/product photographers that I worked with in San Francisco encouraged me to take what I had learned (from them) in studio and on location and become a professional photographer about a year later, I did just that!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Commercial, beauty, corporate head shots, portraiture, editorials, retail fashion, product, and special events.
