The job was to remove security bars from a backyard window, and to reglaze the existing obscured glass with tempered and laminated security glass. After scheduling the first onsite visit, he had to reschedule once. When he arrived, he was very professional in his measurements, very careful and precise. Pete made calculations before he left, and we agreed on a price. It was more than I wanted to pay, but he gave good value to his service as he was very careful with the installation. I would definitely use him again, and will give him a shot bidding on my next project.
Dave and his crew were great. They had my new windows in quickly and did a great job. I will diffidently be hiring them again.
Todd and his mentor repaired a 7'x9' multi-paned window from the 1930s that is the nicest most noticeable feature on my home from the street. It was dry rotted so badly that there was a hole big enough for mice to come through. Todd took the window to his mentor's woodshop and together they rebuilt the window with beautiful joinery, removing all the weak rotted parts and replacing with new wood. He then reinstalled the window and used Bondo to completely rebuild the sill (which was also largely dry rotted). The repair is solid and beautifully done. He also was super pleasant to have around, professional in every way, cleaned up every time after his work, and I'm 100% happy. It's way preferable to me to rebuild a beautiful old window rather than buy a new one. He did so affordably (about 1/4 the cost if I had had to buy a brand new window). Thanks, Todd! I totally recommend him to anyone needing this kind of work.
Carruth Home Solutions installed our beautiful new front doors. They were professional, courteous, and helpful throughout the process. They helped select the doors and inspected them when they arrived at Home Depot. Judah spotted a flaw in one of the doors and reordered a new set. During installation, Judah and Steve were punctual, neat, and organized. They included me in discussions about the job and presented options as needed. I appreciate Judah's meticulous painting and attention to detail. It was a pleasure working with Carruth Home Solutions.
He was wonderful helped me with a quote. VERY professional and even drove all the way to Sacramento in a horrible storm just to give me the quote
John did a wonderful job wiring and installing a new ceiling fan! He even fixed a switch in our attic that was out and we were unaware of. I'd definitely recommend him!
Very experienced, professional service. Installed baseboards and re-tacked carpet after ceramic floor tile installation in two bathrooms, family room halls and master bedroom. Highly recommend D&G General Labor.
Contracted to have popcorn ceiling removed throughout entire home as well as painting, hardwood floor install, crown moulding, base boards, and new doors. Reasonable cost, very easy to work with and details not overlooked. Will definitely use them for our next project.
installed window promptly
Max did an excellent job on our front door install. His recommendations were insightful and, despite his young age, he is clearly an experienced contractor. I will use K.G.A. again when I have another home contracting job.
Expertly installed two ceiling fans! Very nice, easy to work with. He was also able to inform me of a mold problem we suspected of having. We will definitely have him come back for any future needs!!
We chose Spectrum One from three promising companies we found on Thumbtack, mostly because they had the most reviews , all of them quite positive. As much as we would have liked to give the younger companies a try. ( they both seemed also very competent), we decided on Spectrum One, because we don’t live on site and needed a tried and true provider. I met with Val for an initial on-site visit in November 2017, had an estimate within days. He suggested a window brand we ended up using to match the existing windows as closely as possible. Due to turnaround, installation was scheduled for after Christmas, late January, which had to be pushed out by a week when window delivery was delayed. Through the whole process Val and Nikki at the office kept us and our renters in the loop, arranged for the permit and inspector - everything was transparent and professional. As of yesterday, it’s all done! Our renter is extremely happy and reports a very positive experience though out the whole process. Thank you, Val and crew! =)
Gennadiy got back to me within, maybe, 5 minutes of my initial search and I was able to get a quote for a floor installation easily...sent him the square footage and photos of the 2 rooms where the new laminate flooring was to go, took a look a another quote from someone else as well as Gennadiy's reviews, and decided KGA was getting the job. I hit a sweet spot in his schedule and he was able to install the flooring the next day which worked great for me. He is a nice young man and was a true professional...showed up on time, completed the job perfectly, cleaned up afterward, and the price was both competitive and fair. I couldn't be more pleased with the job, and not only would I recommend him to anyone, I have already decided to have him install flooring in another room, and will likely have him take care of some odds and ends around here that I just never have the time to get to. In short, as long as Gennadiy is around these parts, he'll be the first person I call for any construction needs.
We had upgraded windows installed and a new, more efficient, air conditioning system. The windows are beautiful and the installation was clean and professionally done. We are very impressed with the new heating and cooling system, it's ease of operation, it's efficiency, and the energy we hope to save. The installation of these components were also professionally done, the workmanship was superb.
Dan has been doing work for us for the past 15 years now. We met him when he was the foreman on the complete tear down and rebuild of our home in Orinda. He was involved in every aspect of that job from laying the foundation to framing, all plumbing and electrical, windows/doors, cabinet and appliance installation, moulding & trims including tile work in the kitchen and all bathrooms. He was the one person on the crew that was with us every day, problem solving and handling every situation that came up with professionalism and excellent expertise in all areas. Since moving back into our home following the remodel, Dan has continued to help us with all maintenance and repairs at our home and always responds with urgency to our needs. He has often come on a weekend or after hours from another job site to take care of us. Because of our confidence in Dan, we purchased a fixer upper second home which he has helped us to completely remodel in the past year. With Dan's expertise, we were able to do this without the need for an architect and he guided us through every step of the process--working with the town to procure the necessary permits and guiding me with a timeline and "to do" lists to keep our project moving. He is knowledgeable, thorough and efficient in all of his work and knows when to get you involved in the decision-making process. I have referred Dan to many, many friends who have used his services for everything from minor repairs to very large projects. Every single one of them has thanked me over and over--and in turn referred other friends to him as well. I have seen his business grow over these years and I am so appreciative that he always manages to "squeeze" us in when we need something in either of our homes. He is a rare find in this industry and everyone that I have referred to him feels the same way. I am happy for Dan that he is so busy these days--and that my friends and I have to negotiate with each other to get on his schedule for projects(!) It's been a great thing to see him build his own crew as a general contractor and work to teach others to become "Dans" also. We certainly need more of them!
