My husband and I Hired About Music Pro for our wedding this year and had opportunity to work with Gary and his 5 piece band they were by far, the best wedding band we have seen out of the many wedding and events we have attended over the years. Gary and his band take their work very seriously and it shows in the results they get on the dance floor. There is a unique blend of fun and professional in there performance. Gary was an excellent MC when his presence is required, and when it comes to the music! The whole night was magical. The band covered a wide rage of musical styles and can read the dance floor to keep the party going. I would highly recommend Gary and his band (I already have) if you want a incredible dance party at your wedding!

The uniformly glowing comments about what a great teacher Danny is in the other testimonials are quite correct- his patience, his approach tailored to your level and needs, his custom teaching aids, and so on. Put together in a really nice guy who teaches in a comfortable informal setting, and who really walks the walk (composes, performs, has lots of suggestions for local concerts, classic and contemporary jazz repertoire). Test his perfect pitch and photographic memory by playing him an unfamiliar piece on your marginal phone speaker, and have him sit down and play it for you on the piano almost perfectly. The biggest problem with this guy is that you leave thinking that life is unfair! But if you want to learn jazz piano as painlessly and as quickly as your time permits, you can't do better than Danny.

SilverWood played some great Irish folk music at the cocktail hour of our wedding. Great background music and very friendly musicians. Would definitely recommend SilverWood for any occasion!

I met Sophie almost two years ago when my family arrived in Chicago and I was looking for a Suzuki cello teacher for my daughter, Eloise. As well as being a violin Suzuki teacher (and former colleague of Sophie at the Music Institute of Chicago), I am also a mother of 3 girls who all play instruments. My family and I moved from France to Chicago two years ago to gain a new and foreign experience. I was particularly interested in observing how the Suzuki music method is taught in the US. Teaching and pedagogy have always been passions of mine. On first meeting Sophie, Eloise didn’t really understand and speak English. To move for a new teacher wasn’t simple for Eloise and she had very much loved her previous teacher in France. In spite of these difficulties, Sophie immediately knew how to teach Eloise and how to smooth the transition between Eloise’s previous teacher’s style and her own teaching (and change of language!). Before coming to Sophie, Eloise, who is now 11 years old, loved playing cello but she wasn’t really excited about technique and posture. Step by step, Sophie has shown Eloise why all these technical things are really important and how it’s improving her sound and playing. In addition to increasing Eloise’s understanding of the importance of technique, Sophie always suggested new challenges, such as competitions or concerts or chamber music and Eloise was thus always motivated. During the last year, Eloise has completed two full books with Sophie (and is now working on Suzuki Book 8). Under Sophie’s guidance, Eloise was also recently accepted into the Chicago Symphony Youth Orchestra. Eloise also participated in a little cello ensemble with Sophie; a Suzuki group lesson of sorts, but only for three cellists. Sophie had a lot of ideas on how to make this lesson very interesting and fun (improvisation, chamber music, piano accompaniment, 12 bar blues, harmonic analysis...). Sophie’s love for teaching and playing cello is contagious, and I have no doubt that any new student will love working with her. Eloise and I wish her the very best in all her future endeavors. Liquid Blue played our daughter's wedding and we knew what to expect, as we test drove them at a local hotel. Our guests, however, were blown away! Their set list is vast and they played everything we asked of them and more. The lighting, the interchangeable dancers/singers, the horns - awesome. Every member was a pro. We have hired other cover bands for corporate events over the years, and Liquid Blue is the most diverse of them all. They listened to us and made my family feel very special and also aided in keeping the festivities moving along with announcements and flexibility to their typical program. It was a wonderful all around experience, and the band leader, Nikki Green, and her sidekick Perry, were as good as you will find. I would hire them again in a moment. If you are looking for a high energy dance party, Liquid Blue is your band. You will not be disappointed.

The Ryan Hiller Band is epic! I have seen the duo and the full band play several times and I can't stop coming back for more! I have had the band play at several events (indoor and outdoor) that I have hosted as well as hired the duo to play at more intimate functions and they have always delivered. I love his originals AND his covers. The crowd is totally into it and they can take an event from 'just ok' to 'that was the best night'. If I could have The Ryan Hiller Band or duo play every night I would!

Taylor has an amazing voice and was the perfect fit for our event needs. He was flexible enough to play some of the songs we requested and his renditions of popular covers were very much enjoyed. He's the quintessential coffee house acoustic guitarist!

My experience with Tonga has been nothing but great! He is one of those special musicians who can not only play an extremely wide variety of styles, but is equally gifted at teaching them to you. If you are looking for a positive teacher that tailors lessons toward each students individual strengths, weaknesses, and goals then Tonga is your man. I give him my highest recommendation without hesitation!

Josh and I married September 6th at the Scripps Forum in La Jolla and Republic of Music (ROM) made our wedding day the BEST DAY EVER!!!! Since I had been planning our wedding from Washington, I didn't get to see the band live prior to our wedding. My dad and siblings went to see ROM play at Club M in Del Mar and they were blown away!! I was already impressed by the reviews and YouTube videos I had seen and read. I knew they were going to be the perfect match for our wedding day and I was totally right!! ROM is professional, fun, amazing and freakishly good at their craft! Vocals were ON POINT and the musicians brought the funk!! We opted to splurge on horns two weeks before the wedding and it was a great decision!! Our guests LOVED the band and their personalities and stage presence set the mood for the night. I cannot say enough about Tiana and how amazing she is to work with. She eased my way from the moment I spoke with her. (I had already booked another band but changed my mind once I was told about ROM) She provided me with piece of mind and made our day run so smoothly. The band did an excellent job keeping our day on schedule and emceed the entire event perfectly. It was really comforting to know that our families could enjoy the evening and not have to worry about making announcements or keeping the night on schedule. Dinner music was amazing, slower songs really allowed you hear just how amazingly talented the vocalists are. As the evening progressed Josh and I did not stop dancing all night along with our guests! My sisters and I also got to be band mates for the day and sing with the band which was pretty epic!! My dad is a man of few words, but he couldn't stop talking about the band for days!! He already said he wants to book ROM for their 40th wedding anniversary!! If you're looking for a band for your big event, stop looking!!! You have found who you are looking for!! ROM will not disappoint! I wish I could crash all the weddings they performed at so I can sing and dance the night away. That's how awesome they are! Thank you ROM for everything!!! Your forever fans, Mr. & Mrs. Calkins!

Ron and his musicians were outstanding!! I hired them for a '40s Big Band Pary for 2 hours and did the deliver! They were very much accommodating to our residents and the staff. Very upbeat group of men who sang and danced with our residents, which made all the ladies very happy! The music was spot on and made us all feel like we really were in the 1940s. Very happy with the performance and their attitudes, absolutely one of the best!

My husband and I road the Bahia Belle paddle wheel from one hotel to another several nights listening to the great music of B Natural. We hummed along, tapped our toes, until we just had to get up and dance. Lisa can really belt it out and I have never heard such a great guitar player as Michael Laughbaum. Together they make a really great team/band. Fun group!

Jordo makes his own music which is amazing and also plays covers! I loved having him at my venue. He can perform any song you want. I have never heard anything quite like him! He uses his loop pedals to make one guitar sound like a huge band. I can liken him to is Ed Sheeran. He is reasonably priced but there is no way he will be be able to keep his prices so low for so long. He can perform for anything. Weddings, shows, parties, and just about anything. If you call him he would love to help you out!
