FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My design fees are a flat rate based on the scope and complexity of your project, so you know the total design fee up front. That flat rate covers the agreed design deliverables and our communication throughout the process. Purchases such as furniture, art, accessories, lighting, finishes, and materials are handled through me as part of the design and procurement process. Contractor labor, permits, and any trade work are paid directly to your contractor. If you decide to expand the scope or add additional areas, I will always share a clear add on flat rate for approval before any extra work begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical Full Service Interior Design process is structured in four clear phases so you always know what is happening next, what decisions are needed, and when. Phase 1 Discovery and Concept We start with an initial consultation to understand your vision, lifestyle, goals, and budget. Then I develop the overall design concept with mood boards, a color palette, and inspiration imagery, plus preliminary space planning and functional layout ideas. Phase 2 Design Development Next we refine the layout, color scheme, and overall direction. I source furnishings, materials, finishes, lighting, and décor, then present a cohesive design plan with visuals and product selections. We refine the budget and confirm approvals before moving forward. Phase 3 Procurement and Project Coordination Once selections are approved, I place and manage product orders, coordinate with trades, contractors, and vendors, monitor deliveries, handle logistics, and keep the timeline moving while troubleshooting any issues that pop up. Phase 4 Installation and Reveal Finally, I oversee delivery and installation of furniture, artwork, and décor, then style and accessorize so everything feels complete. We do a final walk through, address any punch list items, and wrap with a client reveal.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the interior design field since 1999 and have an Associate’s degree plus a certificate in Interior Design. I am ASID Allied since 2003 and served as the Communications Chair for ASID San Diego from 2023 to 2025. I am also certified in Classical Feng Shui since 2015, which I use as an added layer of support for flow, function, and overall feel in a space. In addition, I host several interior design podcasts, which keeps me closely connected to industry best practices, trends, and a strong network of vendors and trade partners.
