Introduction: For a long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to teach music, especially to little ones. And ever since I graduated from UCSD with my music degree, I've been imparting knowledge about piano/voice/music to students of all ages and I LOVE IT! My positive attitude and friendly encouragements set me apart from traditional knuckle-rapping teachers of old. I truly love what I do and it shows! ♥️ Today, as a seasoned pro with lots of gigging experiences, I’m finding I have tons of great information to pass on to older students too, and they are just as much fun as my youngest ones! My mature students are taking voice, piano and music theory lessons...and loving it! And, if you’re a working musician, The Encinitas Music Workshop has a great jam room with just what you need to practice up for that big gig. My favorite teaching moments occur while I'm watching my students succeed at something that they've had to work very hard on to achieve. Their joy and sense of accomplishment truly make my day. :)

Miss Lisa is amazing! She really connected with my daughter and fostered a love for music. Her upbeat, positive personality makes kids feel comfortable and confident even when they’re trying a new difficult skill. The “open mic” performances she organizes for her students are well organized, low pressure and tons of fun! Miss Lisa is also flexible and works with our schedule which sometimes changes. We’re so happy to have found her and would highly recommend her!

Lisa is a real musician and a great teacher, and she loves the kids! She has become a friend over the years! After having tried 3 teachers and music studios we were lucky to find Lisa and stuck with her for all these years. Our daughter looks forward to her piano and voice lessons every week - and she hasn’t lost her motivation to practice, thanks to Lisa’s teaching method. Even though music lessons in Encinitas are expensive, with Lisa as a teacher we have seen great results over the years which make it well worth for us.

My son has been with working with Lisa for the last seven years... she makes piano fun for all ages, is extremely supportive, and even open to him playing some of his favorite tunes. I HIGHLY recommend Lisa... she’s a treasure.

She was absolutely lovely! She took the time to explain herself and what she does very thoroughly. We got to singing and warm ups right away. She listened to me and what I wanted very genuinely and was ready to help me get it, as well as providing her own respectful opinions and suggestions. Her whole demeanor was completely friendly and relaxed. She left me with tips and tricks even if I didn’t choose to meet with her again. She is overall a great coach and a lovely woman

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My rates are $175 per month for 4 half-hour lessons private lessons. Semi-private lessons are the same tuition ($175), meet for an hour, and are shared between three students.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First time students are always such fun. The process of getting to know each individual, exploring their strengths and weaknesses, and discovering where they want to go with their musical studies is always an enlightening process...for me as well! 😊

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated from UCSD with my degree in music in 1990 and worked my way through college as the lead singer in the rock and roll duo, B Natural. In addition, I love musical theater and perform in shows whenever I have time. My favorite roles thus far are Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), The Witch (Into The Woods), and Aunt Sponge in James and The Giant Peach.
