FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I try to get in an hour a day to practice and sometimes two or three on weekends. I have some mentors I follow as well a community of fellow DJ's that work to improve each other.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father had a room mate that used to DJ and whenever I went to visit, he would show me a few things. This was back in the day of vinyl and reel to reels, so I was really impressed. As I got older, there were a few guys that would bring their set to the park and watching what they did and how they moved crowd just hooked me. I knew I could do it too.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I did a gig on July 4th 2015. What was different about this was the diversity of the crowd. There were all different ages and ethnic backgrounds, yet I was able to keep everyone happy with the music selection. I was even to told to keep next 4th of July open as I was already hired. That really felt good.
