Dog Training

The trainer met with me on site to evaluate my dog's behavior as well as discuss specific issues that I needed to resolve. The plan was laid out about how many times we would need to meet. The trainer was very flexible in terms of allowing me to chose between the individual sessions and group classes. I was glad to learn during the initial evaluation that the group classes, if missed one, were not lost and we could come in for another class. We are still going, only half way through the recommended program (we had 3 individual on site training sessions and 1 group class so far). My dog's behavior has improved dramatically. I learned a ton, which basically fuels how my dog behaves. It is important to understand that the work is required by the dog owner on a daily basis. You will get out as much of this training as you put into it. I am definitely going to finish the training with American Canine Institute and will recommend them to anyone & everyone.

Dog Training

John is an excellent trainer. We sent our dog Sophie (14 mos) for 2 week on site training. She needed help with manners, listening to us, and walking on a leash without pulling. We received pictures and updates from John. He was very responsive to my emails and phone calls. She came back to us calmer, better listener, and is walking on leash without pulling. We continued our education by having John come to our house. I needed training as well! Sophie's manners are much better, she listens much better, and is no longer pulling me on walks. We are going to continue with ACI for group training. I have learned a lot from John and would highly recommend him and ACI.

Dog Training

Gene is polite and well versed in the area of dog training. So far we are in the puppy class and hope to progress to Protection training. He cares for his own dogs and the dogs of others. Couldnt recommend a better dog trainer in the area. So far all his predictions were correct about our Belgian Malinois. Droopy ears no longer droop. Hire him. You wont regret it.

Dog Training

John Butcher is the best dog trainer I have ever worked with. He knows dogs, in fact he "speaks dog". If you want to get your dog the way you want it to be take them here. It is worth every single penny.

Dog Training

Robert is an excellent trainer. My husband and I always look forward to taking our little gitl, Pearl for training. Robert has provided helpful information for us to do with Pearl at home. So glad we have someone like Robert training our puppy.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I took a dog training class and got hooked. I asked a master trainer if I could work with him and started training dogs in 1989. After working in the technology sector for over 38 years, I had enough! I was offered an early retirement package from HP an I took it. I wasn't ready to retire, I wanted to do something more with my life so I took a passion and turned it into a business.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Just like building a house, you need a solid foundation. Basic obedience is the most common type of dog training but I always have to train the owner more than the dog.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When contacting a dog trainer get to know the trainer's philosophy and approach to training dogs. The owner has as more responsibility of training the dog as the trainer has.
