Hired on Thumbtack

Very poor in the way he did the estimates. First started with a quote, then we spoke on phone, and he said new quote is 50% more. We agreed. Then still I offered him to come look at the project. Came home and then increased the quote again by 50% or told me if you take care of removing stuff from closet he can do it. I have got multiple bids and his price was never the lowest but he was responsive so kept talking with him. Lastly, he stopped replying to my texts today. So I pinged him on thumbtack, and he says no he needs minimum twice my original quote. I took the pain to find a person to remove all the stuff from the closet and I hired them and now he changed his mind again. Instead of proactively telling me that he is not interested, he told me when I asked him to start work and wasted everyone's time

Yash lied and hid the full details of the job. He wanted 5 jobs but asked for 1 quote. He wanted furniture disassembly, moving old items, removing baseboard, wall painting AND furniture assembly. As initially we were only told the info of him needing furniture assembly, so we quoted him for that and even went to location check. When we went there, we found out the full picture of the jobs and told him we need to send a new quote. And the job was never confirmed, so not sure how he thinks that he’s entitled to leave a review. Professionals on Thumbtack stay away from this guy.
