Introduction

I am a young and vibrant music instructor who excels in many forms of music. Asides from working as a music professor of music in San Jose State University and Napa Valley College, I also work as a piano content developer at Ubisoft for Rocksmith+ to teach piano to over a million users. UC Irvine B.A 13' UC Berkeley M.A. 15' Seattle Film Institute M.Mus. 16' I have been playing since I was 6, and I have around 20 students in Fremont. From students 4 years old to 79 years old, I teach them all. I am a certified ABRSM teacher, which has enabled my students to register for and pass the Certificate of Merit exam (it looks great for college applications.). I have a sense of humor, but I also have firm expectations of my students. I bring a lot to the table, which has come from a lot of experience and a broad base of knowledge. I get to see students giving me smiling faces after they pass my expectation. I also like to help students unconsciously develop interpersonal and independence where they are able to figure out and learn how to play songs by themselves professionally.

Collin goes above and beyond to help my 3 kids learn piano. He is an excellent instructor. He is very patient with each one of my kids and tailors each lesson. Not only does he teach the fundamentals but he keeps them enthused to keep going. I often find my kids practicing of their own when it was a struggle. They have grown and musicians with each lesson. Collin is very responsive to what I want from each lesson. If I could I would give him more than 5 stars. Collin is simply the best.

Collin was a great teacher for our 10 year old daughter who was taking piano lessons for the first time. Collin was very patient and had a friendly way of providing feedback to our daughter to help her learn piano playing basics. It worked because our daughter has made a tremendous amount of progress under just one year of lessons with Collin.

Collin was an excellent teacher for my daughter who is 7 years old. He always arrived promptly on time and taught her piano very sincerely. He was friendly, but also had expectations wrt regular practice, proper posture etc. In the time she was learning from him, she learnt and played a lot more than I ever expected from her. Unfortunately, we had to move for work reasons, otherwise I would have continued with Collin as long as possible.
