Introduction: As a certified massage therapist, my specialty is in Deep Tissue work. I find those spots, knots or adhesions that have been ailing you and work them out. Some of my most regular feedback is that I am able to find tender spots easily that my clients weren't even aware they had. I currently work full time as an instructor teaching massage therapy to future CMTs. I have experience with the elderly, infirm and even those at the end of their life. I regularly work with bodybuilders and people who exercise very regularly. Though of course I often work on office athletes, medical professionals, and your average Joe. While my specialty is deep work I tailor my what I do to your needs in the moment. Stretching, Hot stone, even energy work are all things I am capable of. If requested I am also level 1 reiki certified. Also, if you choose to hire me, you can call me Tommie though I prefer to go by Theo. And, because I do keep a very tight schedule, so during the week i typically only see clients after 5:00 pm and on the weekends-before noon

Theo at BearHug Hibernation is a Miracleworker!! This is not your ordinary temporary short-term feel good for an hour massage. Theo helps you function better with the miracles he performs that have long-lasting positive results for your overall health and performance. With Theo’s help, I was able to have greater functionality that resulted in the loss of over 60lbs! Whether you have an aching muscle or want to improve your overall health, Theo at BearHug Hibernation can help you achieve your goals and feel better than ever!

Can't say enough good things about Theo! I have been getting massages from him on and off since 2011 and he has always been professional as well as a kind and calming person, which really rounds out the whole "hibernate and heal" experience. Not only do I feel physically better after my appointments, I feel less stressed and more grounded. I would recommend him to anyone!

Puts the therapy in massage therapy. Did deep tissue and wow he can get in there. Fixed torn muscles n knots. Definitely worth it if you workout a lot like I do.

Really knows how to touch a man. Suffer from stiff neck and tight shoulders. Asked him not to hold back on the pressure and he did not. Worked all the kinks out. Highly recommend!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Swedish massage/Deep Tissue - $100for 60 minutes - $150for 90 minutes -$200 for 120 minutes Thai stretch massage 90/120 minutes - $250 Combined Thai/Swedish 150 minutes- $350 Shiatsu 60 minutes- $80 Hot Stone - Additional $20 Cupping - Additional $20 Energy work - $50 for 60 minutes.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

To begin with, I will discuss the clients expectations and need with them. If necessary I will give them a postural analysis to pinpoint any issues they may be having so I can better understand and work with their pain. While I work I will repeatedly ask if the pressure I am giving is enough or too much. Many of my client see me with the expectation of suffering through the pain of the massage because they know that immediately afterwards they will feel immense relief. However that is not typically something I give to first time clients. It is usually better for a new client to become acclimated to the deeper work before they get a true deep tissue massage.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated as a certified massage therapist and health educator from the National Holistic Institute in Clovis CA. I left that school with honors and two letters of excellence. I have worked for two years at a spa and two years at a retirement home. I work full time as a teacher at NHI, education future massage therapists
