Introduction: I have been playing drums professionally from the age of thirteen years old. I have years of experience performing/touring, recording/producing and educating.
I have been fortunate to perform with some legendary artists such as: Maynard Ferguson, Greg Adams (Tower of Power), Aly and AJ, Toni Childs, and numerous other world class musicians.
I have several students who have gone on to become professional drummers in high profile bands.
My focus with my students is to prepare them for professional working situations in the areas of live performance, touring and recording.

Evan Stone is a great drum teacher and smart how he teaches, very professional and taught me a lot about Stick Control and independence along with Jazz, latin and rock styles, also taught me a lot about soloing. I'm always up for more lessons from him! Thanks Evan

Evan is not only an incredible drummer, but also a great teacher! As a professional drummer and drum instructor myself, I’m very particular on the teacher I choose for my personal drum lessons. Evan is one of the only teachers I trust to give instruction and guidance in the areas I truly need the help. This takes a ton of professional experience, as well as skill. He has a way of breaking complex fundamentals down in a simple way without setting the bar intimidatingly high. He has helped me to accomplish things I never thought I could do on the drums. For me, Evan has a way of uncovering and exposing my bad habits, but then fixing them, thus making me a better player. This is always done in a friendly encouraging way. In my opinion, Evan Stone is not just a teacher, but a GURU of the drums! The proof is not only in his playing but also in his teaching!

Hello. I was referred to Evan by a friend in the Beginning of the year. My son had been playing the drums with another teacher for about four years but I thought that he wasn’t learning any longer. We needed a change due to the fact that my 15-year-old was going to apply for the admissions process for the Orange county school of the arts. We needed a professional with an amazing record. Enters Evan. I called him in February. He was easy going from day one and very professional, and super nice guy! My son is a one thousand times a better drummer BECAUSE of Evan. We see him weekly. He goes above and beyond to teach Ian his drum lessons and life lessons too. I often come in at the end of the lesson to see Ian’s progress and to visit with Evan. He has become a friend, too. One that we both look forward to seeing every week. Evan is an incredible teacher! I’m so grateful that I called my friend back in February to ask about her son’s experience with Evan. If you can drive to Fullerton, don’t go searching anywhere else. Evan is IT!

Evan is absolutely nothing but awesome. I had the great pleasure of studying with Evan throughout high school and feel very fortunate to have spent the time with him not only behind the drum kit, but letting him dig into my inner being to find out what it was I was looking for to get me where I wanted to be by expressing myself musically at a young age.
His fine astute in nuances is what separates him from a musical and personal standpoint compared to others.
There is a certain demeanor I learned from studying with Evan, I am now 29 and feel very fortunate to still be enjoying music and freely expressing myself today from the foundation heavily weighed on what I learned from Evan.
I also had the opportunity to attend the PIT program at Musicians Institute after high school and was able to test out after six months of the certificate program due largely to what I learned from Evan. I would certainly not be surprised to find myself going back to Evan for more lessons. I refresh back to a few things frequently from Evan that seem to keep me very grounded and comfortable whether I'm playing soft music or playing more aggressively with rock music still today, and some things I know are so ingrained I can't even dig them out. It was truly an honor studying with Evan.

I have worked with Evan as my primary teacher for going on 10 years now. I owe everything to the man. He taught me early on about the importance of dynamics, independence, awareness, listening, and overal proper technique and ergonomics. His dedication to my improvement has helped shape me in to a professional musician. Knock on wood, I haven’t had any drum-related fatigue or injury since I started my journey with him, and I don’t expect to see any issues thanks to him. Do yourself a favor and work with Evan!
