I put a lot of thought into bringing the right training program to the table for each horse/rider combination. I'm lucky in that my farm has many excellent lesson horses, and I can match my students to the right horse and challenge them in ways that are unique to them.
I love the ah-hah moments that students experience - when things just start to click and there's real communication between horse and rider.

The stables are very different from what I'm used to but Kate's knowledge and her ability to convey a direction clearly is really marvellous. I'm so happy to have found her. I have some physical issues that can be daunting or frustrating to a trainer and they don't seem to phase her at all. I really believe I'll make good progress working with her and am very excited about the future.

Kate is very knowledgeable and communicates well with her students. She is enthusiastic, patient and kind, and able to be firm and professional but always fun. Tabitha (age 10) looks forward to her riding lessons and also the many riding competitions that Kate involves her students in. We are happy to have found Kate Little.

Kate agreed to teach my 8 yr old granddaughter how to ride. This little girl is shy and a bit anxious so i too was nervous. Kate never skipped a beat in working with her in that she was kind, patient and pleasant, but did not for a second compromise the importance of the lesson or any safety matters. We will definitely go back. for a very long time if all goes well.

We have only had one lesson with Kate, but my daughter loved it. Because it was a first lesson, she spent the time making sure my 7 year old was comfortable, and worked on balance and basics. She is very flexible and easy to work with.

I take regular lessons from trainers in various disciplines. This keeps me challenged and learning and passionate - things that are important in this field!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't be afraid to ask if you can come watch a lesson before hiring! I like an instructor to move around the arena a lot, to offer concrete suggestions for improvement, and to request feedback from the rider regularly.
