Nina has an excellent customer service. I never met her, I just spoke with her over the phone a couple of times and we emailed each other several times afterwards, She always respond so promptly and was very helpful and informative to all the questions that we needed to know about buying a house. Unfortunately, we decided not to move in Ontario, so we couldn't do business with her. However, my husband and I were very impressed and wished that all the realtors has an honest and professional courtesy like her.

Robin and his management business managed our 16-unit apartment for several years, then we chose him as the realtor to sell the apartments. We live in another state. Robin was personable and professional at the same time. It would take pages to tell you how many good things he did for us, but the bottom line is that Robin and his managmement company is the best!

I was not looking forward to buying new house since our first experience was horrible and we ended up buying a condo that needed a lot more work then we anticipated. When I found out I was pregnant with twins we quickly realized our 2 bedroom condo was not going to work anymore. We interviewed over 7 realtors before we decided on Michelle and the biggest reason we picked her was because she seemed to be methodological in her approach. Most agents wanted to sell our condo for more than Michelle suggested we sell for and when we asked why she wanted to list it so low she explained her process and the market in a way that just sounded perfect. Sure enough our condo sold for more than we thought we would get all because of the way she priced it. I feel like most agents just shoot in the dark and hope they hit something but Michelle has a method to her madness that I really really liked. She deserves 10 stars for her work with us.

Couldn't have asked for a better team to find and close everything for my first home! Robert Wetzel from the Vega team was my go to realtor whom since day one always kept in contact and informed through the home buying. After almost a year owning my home, robert still keeps in contact and gives visits from time to time just because that's how close they value their clients. Very professional and on point with everything. Highly recommend the Vega team! Thanks again for your awsome support.

One of the best agents I have ever worked with!!! DJ helped me get in touch with the perfect lender to assist my mom with refinancing her home. My mother seen a major increase in her mortgage payment and screamed for help. DJ provided us with some of the best Direct Lenders in the real estates business and we were able to get my mothers mortgage payment down from $2,300 to $1,400!!! In addition to that, my brother moved from the state of Florida to California and wanted to buy a condo! He found my brother a condo I a matter of 6 days. And then....AND THEN..we closed in 15 days! I cant thank him enough for all he has done for me and my family! DJ and his Vantage Realty Team went above and beyond and will always be my realtor...PERIOD!!!

I've been working with Brittany Leighton for the past 3 years and it's always been a great experience. As a loan officer, I've worked with many different realtors and none of them provide the accessibility and professionalism that Brittany provides. I know that anytime I have a client looking for a home I can trust Brittany to provide the customer service they deserve.

    # brian edwards reviews If you need a realtor in the Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Inland Empire or anywhere else in Southern California - Brian Edwards should be your first choice. My wife and I moved our family (us and two young kids under three) from Chicago to California a month ago. I flew into Ontario, CA on a weekend in the beginning of March and had only two days to find the perfect house for an April 1st move in. Not an easy task, but thanks to Brian I signed a lease by the time I was on a plane back to Chicago. Brian is a true professional. While in Chicago before my house hunting trip, he worked with me over the phone and understood what my family needed. During our house visits, he made sure I found the right house, and sent me new listings right up to the last minute - making sure I was happy with our new home. He’s an incredible resource, with a wealth of knowledge - but he didn’t stop there… After we signed the lease, Brian followed up multiple times since we’ve moved in - helping us make sure everything is just right. We’re renting right now, but in the next few years we’ll be looking to buy a house. And when that time comes, it’s good to know I’ve got my realtor - Brian Edwards.

Monica is the first of many agents in the saturated California real estate market that actually impresses! She is highly motivated, extremely personable, and ALWAYS RESPONDS day or night. She continuously assists in searching and re-searching prospective properties for our highly unique situation, while providing perfect suggestions for alternatives. Monica follows up just enough, yet has remained highly flexible in our ever-changing parameters. We believe she has just curated our perfect selection and we are very excited! Hopefully the offer is moving forward so we can soon be celebrating with her in our new home. We are so impressed that as we acquire additional properties in the region, we hope to continue working with Monica. She is my NUMBER ONE recommendation for anyone looking for a home in Southern California - all referrals will be sent her way. I'm also happy to call her a new friend!

I love my community and the people that make it great. I want to see them thriving and my small contribution to that end involves real estate. No home purchase or sale is too small or too complicated, and no one deserves to walk into one of the biggest investments of their life without an expert at their side.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a real estate agent do?

Real estate agents help their clients buy, sell, and rent commercial and residential properties. There are also real estate agents that sell industrial and agricultural real estate, but the majority sell residential properties. To become a real estate agent, you must be at least 18 years old, successfully complete real estate courses, and pass a real estate exam. Be sure to check for any required licensing, too. Often real estate agents will earn 5 percent to 6 percent of the total home sale price for their work in representing their client. Typically this commission is split equally between the buyer’s agent and the seller’s agent. Here is an overview of what a real estate agent does, according to the United States Department of Labor:

    • Represent clients who are looking to buy, sell and rent properties.
    • Stay knowledgeable about regional real estate prices, mortgages, market conditions and related information, and advise clients accordingly.
    • Determine competitive market prices by comparing properties.
    • Create and publicize lists of properties for sale, including details such as location and features.
    • Market properties through advertisements, open houses and listing services.
    • Show prospective buyers or renters properties.
    • Present purchase offers to sellers for consideration.
    • Mediate negotiations between buyer and seller.
    • Ensure that all terms of purchase contracts are met.
    • Prepare documents, such as loyalty contracts, purchase agreements and deeds.

What's the difference between a real estate broker and an agent?

Real estate agents and real estate brokers both help clients buy, sell, and rent residential and commercial properties. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, real estate brokers are licensed to manage their own real estate businesses. Real estate agents cannot have their own real estate office and must work under a broker. Real estate brokers often have real estate firms and employ real estate agents. Those real estate agents may be employees of the firm, or they may work on contract and earn part of any commission they bring into the firm.

If you are a homeowner ready to sell or a buyer in the market for a new home, either a real estate broker or a real estate agent can help you achieve your goal. What is more important than their title is their track record and client success stories. When interviewing real estate agents or brokers to help you buy or sell a home, ask about their recent sales history as compared with the original listing prices. If you’re selling a home, ask how they would market your home and what price they would list it at. Whether you hire an agent or broker, you want a professional who will have your best interests at heart.

What should you look for in a real estate agent?

When you’re hiring a real estate agent you want to find a qualified pro who can negotiate the best deal for your home — whether you’re buying or selling. Reading reviews will help you weed out obvious bad operators; you want to work with someone who treats their clients with fairness and respect. That said, you also want someone who can play hardball and maximize your real estate deal. Ask for references from recent clients, and be sure to call them.

Experts encourage you to interview more than one prospective real estate agent before hiring. A home sale or home purchase is a big deal — sometimes the biggest deal in a person’s life — and you want to find an agent who will work hard for you. In today’s market, having a real estate agent who is social media savvy and has an attractive online presence is critical. Ask the agent how they plan to market your house. Review their listings, and ask yourself if they have professional photos with homes that are professionally staged. If the answer is no, they might not have the marketing savvy you’re looking for. Ask what price they would list your house at and why. Pay attention to how they communicate with you during your initial interviewing phase. Are they too busy to respond for several days? Are they clear and helpful? This information is a clue to how they’ll engage during the entire process.

What do real estate agents charge?

Real estate agents typically don’t charge a set rate to their clients, but rather earn a commission on the price of the final home sale. In traditional real estate, there is a buyer’s agent and a seller’s agent. The two agents receive 5 percent to 6 percent of the final home sale price and split it evenly, meaning they each earn roughly 2.5 percent to 3 percent of the total home sale. If you are a home seller, you may have fees associated with the sale that are above and beyond the commission the agents earn. The real estate agent may have you pay marketing fees, MLS fees, early cancellation fees, or more. Always ask pricing details before signing a contract so you clearly understand your financial obligations. Here are some of the average (and common) costs that can arise when selling a home:

    • Home inspection: $200-$350 or more, depending on region.
    • Home appraisal: $250-$400 or more, depending on region.
    • Professional real estate photography: $275-$550 or more, depending on photographer, square footage of house, and special requests like sunset shots.
    • Closing costs: Often split between the seller and buyer. An average range for the buyer to pay is between 3 percent and 4 percent, with the seller paying a lower fee at 1 percent to 3 percent of the home’s price.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
