FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In the mid 80's one afternoon after coming home from working at a semiconductor company, where I was in Production Control, a young lady came to my door and asked for me, she carried a big bag filled with documents, sort of like a newspaper boy, she handed me one of them, a small claims order and said "you're being served". While I looked at the paper, I was a little intrigued and asked her, "do you get paid to do this?" She gladly responded that she did, I can't remember exactly how much she got paid for doing this type of work. Anyhow, after being at the same company for 10 years and drama, I called it quits . Not knowing what to do with a career. One day I seen an ad in the newspaper for a process server. Like most people, probably like the ones I meet today, I wasn't sure what it was, it just said.."No experience required, will train". Anyway, 20 years later, here I am.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Customers should provide as much details as possible when requesting our services, be specific the types of documents needing to be served, the courthouse (county & city) and court dates. This allows for the process server to know exactly the time frame allowed. Some documents need to be served 10, 15, 20, days prior to the court date.
