FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I do on an annual basis.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been an artist taking after my amazing artist father. Ever since I was a child I drew and painted. When I was 14 I was asked by a family member to paint a mural in my cousins room. From there I was asked by friends to paint murals for them as well. I graduated high school at 16 years old and decided to try to build a business around murals. Starting from word of mouth my business began to blossom. After high school I went to college for fine arts to improve my abilities as an artist. At 18 I then went to school to learn faux finish and then by age 21 I was taught by the famous Roger Merrill how to apply authentic plasters. By the age of 21 I had a crew of 4 and was busy working full time for dozens of interior designers and home builders.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Children's murals are my favorite, most common are jungle, ocean, sports and garden themes. I love Disney and can perfectly replicate any Disney character. Faux finish is the next most common work since it allows for flexibility in budgets while giving an elegant appearance. Usually done in the formal dining rooms, entry ways and powder rooms.
