FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have standard formulas based on lineal feet, square feet and quality of materials. The time and expense of the project. And finally if the person is difficult to begin with it usually doesn't change. So of course that's extra! (kidding) Every project is different we try to work with each customer and find materials that meet with their expectations and their budget and most of the time are able to do that.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I generally try to explain everything from start to finish so the client has pretty good reasonable expectations on the process. I don't mind answering questions at any phase of the job. The thing I hear most often is "I didn't know it was that much work". I do try to relate as much as I can at the beginning so there's a complete understanding of the process. I think being forthright is the most important part of it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed high school. I've taken a few classes related to the trades and business and didn't find much other than the business classes that compared to the experience I've gotten from being in the field. Construction is fairly easy to explain. First and foremost- You have to CARE! Second- if you aren't the best at something. Hire someone who is. Third- Keep your word. Fourth and most importantly- YOU HAVE TO CARE!
